Exceeded expectations
Thoroughly impressed about everything related to this course.
9/10
Course is in excellent shape. Some of the greens are a bit chewed up from lazy players not fixing ball marks but not terrible. Pace was slow due to new players and groups without proper talent to play the back tees. Not sure if they have cart notifications for pace, but some marshaling could have helped.
Course in great shape, fairways, greens all perfect, ball rolled really good on the greens.
Terrific Course
This was my first time playing this course. It was in great condition despite the lack of rain. Layout is terrific and no cookie cutter holes. A great place to play and certainly worth the trip.
Still looking good, Mountain Branch
Excellent layout. Very good conditions. Still a fun place to play.
Golf Course is Great, Clubhouse Staff is to be desired
The course is amazing, beautiful and well taken care of. The club house is nice and the pro shop is well stocked and managed. The only complaint I have is the lack of proper communication between staff and management at the restaurant. We asked if we could smoke cigars outside to multiple people, which all confirmed “yes”. We overheard a guest make a “that’s disgusting” remark and suddenly the manager popped up, said multiple people complained which before that happened we told the waitress that if it’s bothering anyone we would be happy to move but had previously asked permission. She than proceeded to place us in the corner off of the club house balcony at a fire pit not even a table…. We never had the same server come find us. Someone new brought us our food, the manager than began to frantically cough when the cigars weren’t even lit, and stated “I’ll bring you fresh bread” which never came. They made us feel like the ugly step children of the establishment per the picture provided. Overall, the lapse in communication based off of perception and opinions is one I find very disturbing and absolutely could have been handled very differently. Instead we were shamed and put away from everyone with no alternatives provided after being very polite and asking permission beforehand. Again, very nice course and golf side of things, however the restaurant communication to paying guests is desired. Lastly, add condiments to the snack cart on the course.
1st Thoughts
I liked the course, greens were in good shape, fairways were not so good. Many bare areas.
I thought range balls were expensive. I paid $8 and got a bucket with perhaps 24 in it. So, $0.3/ball. I just thought that was a lot.
do not play here if there is a chance of rain
Played six holes and ran into serious rain. Clubhouse called us in and would only give us a 9-hole credit. This is the second time this has happened to me at this course. If there is the slightest chance or rain, do not play here. Otherwise the course is nice.
Rainy wet day but course was in great shape
Got a good deal on a hot time in Golf Now so it was well worth it for $65/person on a Saturday afternoon. Fairly difficult course but not overly so. We waited for about 15 minutes on the back 9 of the day for the rain to clear as it was downpouring on us but it cleared up afterward. Course was still in great shape, understandably since it rained the day before and that day it was cart path only which I hate but totally understand. We finished the front 9 in about 2 hrs 10 mins which is pretty good pace considering it was cart-path only, busy Saturday afternoon, and we had a 4-some. Back half was slower as we stopped for a bit and let a group play through in the downpouring rain but overall good pace and fun course, will return again.
A Must Play
Haven't played this course in many years due to it being 2 hours away. But loved it years ago and still do. It is in excellent condition, it's challenging but fair. Watch out for hole #10 as everythig in the middle of the fairway can wind up in the left rough. Rains came at hole 16 which spoiled the round as we didn't get to finish, but I will make the trek again later this year. Good value with Hotdeal. planned to go to restaurant, but got soaked on course and decided to pass. Will try it next time.
disappointed
second experience playing here where my round was shut down due to weather. on both occasions I did not complete 9 holes and on each occasion i was given a credit for only 9 holes. on this particular occasion i paid for 18, finished 6 and was credited for 9. check the weather when playing this course. best bet is to play during an extreme drought.
As a first time visitor there the staff were helpful with course guidance as well as loaning me a putter, having forgotten my own.
Greens were in excellent shape. Bunkers a bit washed out with recent storms.
Good combination of holes with long and short par 3"s and tee shots on others requiring both L-R and R-L shot shapes.
