White Hawk Country Club - Gray Hawk Nine
About
Located just an hour south of downtown Chicago, White Hawk Country Club offers 36 holes of championship golf. The holes are divided into four nines called Red Hawk, Grey Hawk, Black Hawk, and Silver Hawk. The Grey Hawk nine was one of the first nines built back when it was just an 18-hole golf course. It's the second longest of all the nines at 3,535 yards from the back tees, but it's still much shorter than the 3,846-yard Silver Hawk Course, which is White Hawk's toughest layout. Grey Hawk has a traditional links-style layout with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards coming into play throughout. In addition to the four golf courses, White Hawk also has a practice facility with a driving range that has target greens and a short game area with a bunker.

Nice course nice people
Very large with 4 separate nine hole course. We did Grey and Silver. We thought it was challenging off the tee and hole
Placements. It was fun and in good shape considering it’s mid April. Can’t wait to comeback mid summer when the course has all its landscaping.
Grey / Silver
We played the Grey to Silver nines, at White Hawk, on 4/14/23. It’s been a while since I’ve last played the Silver course and I have to say they made one major improvement, that I think will help others play this nine more often. They cut down the cattails where you can see the routing of holes and see your landing zones. Overall, both nines were in excellent shape considering this early in the year. The greens rolled nice. The entire staff was friendly. I will be back.
John Deere tractor show
Great course courses in great condition would recommend to anybody definitely a tough course was not a single ball washer when I played was also followed by the green roller for 13 holes after we got away from the green roller to fairway mowers to sand trap brakes never shut the machine down never stopped working the entire time we were golfing absolutely terrible etiquette
1 for 2 special
This is a four star course, if they would have given me a rain check for my paid GolfNow round the week before..
It was on and off raining and the clubhouse wouldn't let me go out or give me a raincheck. They said take it up with GolfNow, and GolfNow said it's the course's responsibility since they wouldn't let me out.
Either way, I'm out $40 with no golf or raincheck.
Here's your one star review.....
72° = 5 hours 15 minutes
I know it was a nice day here in November, but a course with this many holes and options should not have taken over 5 hours on a Thursday. Not a ranger in site for the entire round. When you stack 2 and 2 and 4 and 2 and 4 and 2 on top of each other that's what happens. Here's an idea make some foursomes with all the two. Well I can say I played it once, that's enough for me... not heading back anytime soon.
Good golf
Course was very well maintained, this helps your game. Fairways were beautiful, greens were very green but challenging. Loved this place.
condition
perfect day ,but the second 9 holes was bad. no wonder no one wants to play silver.
Always worth a play
This course is always a joy to play. It can be difficult but fun if you are hitting your ball. Will play this at least once a year.
Wow
Was amazed at how well maintained the course is, black and silver were great.
Course silver
They have 4 courses.. Red, black,Grey & silver. We played grey & silver… not knowing silver was the most difficult & very long… But it was channeling. Very nice country club… nice bar, restaurant & food was delicious.

Always a pleasure playing and eating at White Hawk but the only criticism is that the bunkers weren’t in great shape
Avoid the silver hawk, it’s a gimmick 9. This review is only for silver hawk.
The other 3 9’s at white hawk are beautiful. Avoid playing the silver hawk. It’s an absolute waste of time. The layout is just silly. You’ll be disappointed with how dumb the setup is. If your not a single digit handicap you’ll be frustrated with this 9.
