Dreary Weather; pristine conditions
I've played Blue Top Ridge on several occasions over the years, but not in the last few. My wife and I booked a tee-time to play somewhere other than our same old local course.
The greens were rolling immaculate, so smooth and good speed but not so fast that they were unplayable. Every putt we hit rolled true. Tee boxes were in great shape and fairways were as well. Staff in the pro-shop and drink cart were all courteous and helpful. We really had a nice time. Nice course with good diversity of holes. Challenging from the back two sets of tees but good for women from the reds.
Beautiful course - not for beginners
I'm a mediocre golfer and once I gave up on my score I really enjoyed the beauty of this course. Although challenging it is definitely doable.
Great layout
Interesting setup and playable. We played the purple tees at 7,000 yards, and it wasn't too bad considering it was wet. The el; elevations help with the distance. The par 3s contribute to the length as they are all long irons. I'll play again this summer, though it's a bit pricey in primetime. The twilight rate is great.
A must play course.
The course lives up to its reputation, plus some. Great conditions maintained despite the storm the day before.
Golf in Iowa
$99 plus tax each for 2 of us at this time of year was too much for this course. Greens had been tined/aereated and were bumpy. There are a lot of blind shots throughout the course, making it hard to see where other players are at. I know it’s still early season, but think prices should be lower then too…
Staff was friendly and pace was slow enough that we visited with the 4 guys ahead of us on each hole!
Long par 5 with great looks of the course
This is one of the nicest golf golf courses around Quad City’s it’s worth the drive will be back enjoyed every minute O the golf carts very nice as well. GRIP IT & RIPET 💫
Jewel of a Course
I had 3 friends join me for a day on the course. We are all in the 10- 14 hdcp range from the senior tees. This course provided just enough challenge for us all, we scored well and feel like we played a great round of golf. That is what I am always looking for in a course. We all decided we would make a return trip yet this summer. Thanks!!
Great course
Great place to play. On and off the course was really nice.
Friday fall afternoon
Would have been a 5, but dealt with wind and cold most of round. Staff was courteous and on it….everything done right. Decent place of play considering weather
PACE: Played as a single, and had no one in front of me until #16.
CONDITIONS: Course was well maintained. Greens rolled great, and the rough was fair. Splashed out of the bunkers just fine.
STAFF: Got me paid, and that's it. I wasn't pointed to the first tee, or told what to expect. Instead I drove around trying to find the first tee and driving range.
VALUE: $60 for twilight is steep, but the conditions were great.
LAYOUT: Ok, so I found the par 3s to be redundant... felt like 4 versions of the same hole. However, I found the par 5s to be a lot of fun and each very unique. You cannot (should not) walk this course given elevation changes and distance between holes.
Blue Top Ridge
Great course with magnificent views. Tough green complexes.
Challenging course
Very challenging course. Lots of trouble if you're not straight off the tee. It's a target golf course, you need all aspects of your game to score well.
Greens have lots of undulations and you need to be on the correct level on your approach shots to have a decent chance of birdie.
GPS on carts are small and don't show the hole layout very well and the score card doesn't show the hole layouts either, made it tough for the first time playing it.
Course was in great shape, greens were very fast and bunkers were well maintained. Prepare to be humbled unless you are hitting it straight, bunkers everywhere.
Back nine definitely more difficult than the front.
