Richland Golf Review
The Greens were in great shape and like ice. During the week I was pleased that it was wide open for us all day. My few issues are that about 50% of the bunkers were solid ground with little/no sand and our cart died on the 1st hole and they had to bring out a new cart. I’ve been here a few times, and the cart got a flat tire and they had to bring out new cart. Their cart paths are so bumpy and damaged it’s wild. Like BMX rally bumps. If they spent the money to fix them it would make this place a 5 star course. Overall we really enjoyed it and great weather helps.
Value for the money, but expect to be slow
Pace of play was super slow, nearly 5 hours. There was no one to enforce pace of play.
Enjoyable and Challenging
Beautiful fall day with spectacular views! Course is challenging and in good shape with a friendly staff. Pace of play was slow due to two groups in front of us learning to play. Several comments on conditions: Greens, tee boxes and fairways in good shape. Bunkers were very rough, most bunkers had only 1 rake and some didn’t have any. No water on the course and range balls can be upgraded. Very enjoyable day!
Bunkers
Bunkers are mostly unplayable, and have been for quite some time. Need to invest in some renovations or better maintenance.
Not for Me
This is an exceptionally hilly course, with treks up and down from tee boxes to green. As a first time player on this course there were a lot of surprise environmental hazards and bunkers to gobble up any balls hit their way. Also, bunkers ranged from packed clay to sand just dumped into them making it extremely difficult to just walk in them, much less play an effective shot. As a senior golfer, I would not recommend unless you are in really good shape.
Not great
Course was in only fair condition. Greens were pretty good. Shop staffer was nice/helpful. Some traps had sand while others here just baked dirt and weeds. Lots of burned out areas of fairways. Morning food service not available, even on a weekend. The course layout is nice; wasted potential though.
Nice design
I liked the course layout. A number of challenging holes. The many houses surrounding the course really don't come into play. Practice green speed was nothing like the greens on the course, so it took time to adjust..
Cart paths need to be redone. There are bone rattling holes everywhere.
Very inexpensive.
Nice surprise
I was very impressed with this course. The layout was well designed with dog legs, bunkering hills, valleys, and water hazards all creating a thinking man’s course. Accuracy and slot selection was important and made the round challenging but not frustratingly difficult, just enjoyable. Greens were large with slopes and ridges to read, but they rolled well and consistently. The course was in very good shape. I will visit it again, no doubt
Excellent value!
Decent course condition. Greens and Fairways were in good shape.
Price was absolutely worth the play. I would come back because the course was in good condition and at some points challenging for an avid golfer (~8 handicap here).
The staff was absolutely amazing though. Super friendly and just good people!
Very bad that Snack Bar did not open until 11am....terrible situation....Then when I got to the Snack Bar/restauarant at 11:10 am..They said that no food was available for purchase yet...not even Hot Dogs....
Will need to "pack my own lunch" next time....
Golf course is missing out on a revenue-generating opportunity here...
Divots
Tough course. Wish you all would have reminder signs to repair divots at every green. Not sure why people do not fix divots. We fixed 3-4 divots that someone else left behind on most every green. Love the course.
