Great Course, but......
I play this course at least 2-3 times a month. The greens were redone in the last year and look amazing. Pace of play is great and you never feel rushed because it's never packed with people playing. After you play I highly recommend the restaurant.
A warning if you book through golf now, yesterday I booked the hot deal like i normally do and when I got to the course they informed me they now charge a range fee of $8 If you are going to warm up on the range. I paid it, however, in my opinion that is a little steep seeing as I only hit 15-20 balls before starting my round.
new greens are getting better every day. course is in great shape. staff was friendly and helpful
Great Track but the Greens.....
Winter Creek is a great course. All 18 greens have been re-done and we were told they are about 90% back to being done. Well they are still not grown in, sandy, bumpy, slooow, etc....
Like I say great course greens still need a few more weeks of warm wet weather.
Friendly Staff and Amazing Clubhouse.
This is the second time I have been to this course. Very nice clubhouse and very friendly staff. The friendly, respectful staff has to be the best thing I like about this course. You feel like your at an exclusive country club when you golf at this course. For an extra fee we got unlimited driving range balls to warm up before our game. They have gps on all their carts, and the carts have a small ice chest with 2 bottles of water in them. They have a nice restaurant inside the clubhouse where you can get drinks or something to eat. The only downside to this golf experience was the greens were under repair. But I will definitely return to this course mainly because of the great staff and the feeling they give you.
Good challange
The course is considered a country club its nice but not that nice there were alot of the greens in bad shape but a good challenge.
Save Your Money
The greens on this course are in the absolute worst condition I have ever seen for greens. The were a lot of dirt spots throughout most of the greens. There were only 2 greens that were acceptable. Tee boxes were also in horrible condition as well. For a country club, I was extremely disappointed. I love the layout, very challenging, but you are let down once you get to the green. Will not go back anytime soon.
great course
really enjoyed our round at winter creek! staff and amenities were top notch. layout of the course is awesome and the greens are challenging. we went on a cool and windy day so the course was pretty much all to ourselves. many of the greens are still under repair but other than that everything is in excellent shape. will be back soon!
Great course but
Beautiful course with a fun challenging layout... but the greens are absolutely terrible, they need a lot of love. Hopefully they get better in season but it's hard to see... other than that love the clubhouse, GPS carts, friendly staff, restaurant, and price... it's worth playing if your just trying to relax and have fun, if your trying to shoot low scores on those greens good luck...
Course is very challenging
Staff is great courses OK for this time year very challenging
Winter Creek
The staff was fantastic! The course was in good condition with the exception of two holes being closed for repair and the greens were a bit stressed. Maybe it was because of the time of year? Bit the staffs customer service made up for it. I will play it again as soon as possible.
Terrible green
It was my worst experience which I can not have any more. Two holes were closed that were not compensated, and the fairway was not maintained either. Golf now should not offer this course.
Greens need some time.
Love the course. However greens have been renovated and need some time to fill in. Should be great in a few months. Holes 1 & 15 shut down at this time. Will be back later in the season.
Unexpected Experience
2 holes were under construction unplayable, front 9 greens infested with poanna barely playable, back 9 greens slightly better than front at least playable, fairways are excellent zoysia grass, bunkers unraked and packed from rain which occurred 3 days prior, best tee boxes, fairways and layout in this area of the state, clubhouse is beautiful well planned and laid out, personnel semi-friendly we felt more like tolerated visitors than welcome guests(typical CC atmosphere)
No greens
This is a great course but there greens are all bad and two holes are not playable ( closed) with no temp greens you can't play them ? Hopefully this summer it will come around !?! Great staff and club house !
Hardest review to write ever
This is hard because I love this place, BUT it is in receivership and the bank has used Quail Creek Country Club as management through the process...That's a good thing and a bad thing. The day I played is the last day of the season for the course as they are tearing out all 18 greens as I write this. It was maybe the worse infections of greens as I could ever imagine, BUT the course is close to country club caliber excepting the greens. From a business point I cannot see this course ever being a viable business enterprise. The infrastructure and economics simply do not work for the area and as familiar as I am with the area-It never will be profitable--sadly. There has definitely been a lot of money spent out there and a few expensive houses are built, BUT you would need economic psychiatric help if building there is on your mind. This is hard to write as this is one fun course to play for sure and in very good shape excepting the greens and they are fixing that for next season. I will go back next summer when these new greens are rooted in and continue to go maybe once a week until the gate is locked for good. Love it out there--sadly.
Greens VERY POOR
I would not had played this course if had known that the greens were in such a poor condition. They had set up temporary greens in the middle of the fairway. The greens that you can get on was in very poor condition.
WISHED I HAD PLAYED ANOTHER COURSE!!!!!

Our sincere apologies for your experience. It was our policy to inform each and every player upon booking of the struggles we were experiencing with our putting surfaces and we changed our playing rates accordingly. Unfortunately, based on your review, it would seem we mistakenly failed to communicate that message to you. We are currently in the process of conducting extensive repairs to every green on our property to avoid any issues in the future. We are scheduled to reopen on or before October 1, 2016. Please reach out to our General Manager when you have time. We would very much like to host you again and have the opportunity to correct our mistake and provide you with an exceptional experience. Thank you for making the trip to Winter Creek and for taking the time to post your review so that we have the opportunity to improve moving forward. We value your business and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Winter Creek Management
Excellent course
One of the better courses in the OKC area. Much nicer than the OKC city courses. Nice layout, good challenge, greens and tees in nice shape, some spotty fairways also some really nice holes on the back nine.
WCMGMNT & BRIAN-You don't know how happy I am to hear this from you,. I was told these EXCAT things that I posted by an employee of yours behind the counter in the pro shop when I was there. He even told me that he was being paid by Quail Creek through the bank. I don't care about him though-Just happy to know the great news.

Very happy to hear you enjoy our facility and thank you for taking the time to post a review. Unfortunately, there is a need to clear up some factual misrepresentations in your latest review. Winter Creek is not in receivership at this point and has in no way utilized Quail Creek or any other facility for management purposes. Our General Manager works directly for the bank and Winter Creek managing the property in every capacity on a daily basis. He has assembled a completely new staff over the past two years comprised of individuals with different backgrounds and experience levels including, but not limited to, other golf club experience who also work directly for Winter Creek. Regarding your opinion that at some point Winter Creek will close it's gates permenantly, please be mindful that part of the reason for the greens change is for long term sustainability and overall facility success. This more heat tolerant grass will allow us to have exceptional putting surfaces annually during our peak season with little worry of heat or fungal related issues. As far as the economics and business viability of Winter Creek, while the overall economy of our state has presented a challenge over the past few years, we have experienced exceptional growth as a club, community and business entity over the past 24 months and view this repair project as a necessary step to continue this progress in the upcoming years. Additionally, we will not be closed for the season as you indicated, but will reopen in full capacity on or before October 1, 2016. Please take the opportunity to join us for a round after our scheduled reopen date. Should you have additional questions or simply like to discuss more ideas regarding Winter Creek, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. We look forward to hosting you again in the near future at our wonderful facility.
Regards,
Winter Creek Management
Jimbo,
The course is not in recievership. Rest assured the course will be brought back and be as good if not better than when it was when opened back in 2003. At one time WinterCreek was ranked #2 course in the state of Oklahoma... I promise that this course will be great again!
