Fun course
Fun course but more expensive than other local courses. The greens are getting better but a few still have issues still
Geese are a huge problem. Tons of poop on 4 of first 9 holes. A Saturday morning and no grooming had been performed yet at 11:00.
Little slice of heaven
Upon playing this hidden gem, I ran into the 2 people that make it tick. Brandon and Terry were meticulously manicuring the greens and fairways and are clearly under-appreciated. The fairways were exotically cut by someone who obviously has the talents to work at the likes of Augusta National or Pine Valley. The greens were expertly crafted and rolled much faster and smoother than the so called “country club” across town. Do yourself a favor and give Brandon and Terry’s track a whirl.
Unfortunate, incredibly poor customer service
Unbeknownst to me, the course is under severe construction. 3/4 of the greens were cut in the fairway. I paid $36 on GolfNow but the course is only charging $18 due to the maintenance. I spoke to the clubhouse about the discrepancy and the poor conditions. I was met with an incredibly defensive older man who was unwilling to empathize with me paying DOUBLE for such a POOR golf course and experience. He continued to talk over me and kept exclaiming that The Links received ZERO money from GolfNow and could/would do nothing for me. He condescendingly blamed me for booking online instead of calling in for a tee time. I don't recommend contributing to this poorly run establishment. I wasn't offered any reconciliation for the issue and an apology wasn't offered. I will not be playing at The Links and will be recommending to others to stay away. Such a shame that a business's representatives cannot see past their own noses. We have to do better.
FULL of white trash
Dress code was not following the slightest. The greens has divots and places where people put out their cigarettes. Used dip all over the greens as well. The fairways were in awful shape not even taken care of in the slightest. My group was playing at a decently fast pace and the rude people continued to hit into us. Terrible course and will never go back.
This course is dog water.
This golf course is in horrible shape. Only a couple tee boxes actually have grass. Fairways aren’t good but could be worse. Overall layout is complete trash. 18 holes crammed into way too small of acreage. Lots of reviews saying this course is tight. There’s a difference between a course being tight and just being a horrible layout. Wear a helmet on the back 9. Five fairways within 100 yards of each other. Way better off playing just across the road or making a 20 minute drive south. Way better courses for same price.
A course of give and take
Take advantage of the easier holes because there are several holes at the Links that will challenge even the most seasoned golfer. The greens are in great condition but, boy howdy, they are quick! I’m looking forward to playing there again soon.
Need a greenskeeper
Layout is fun, greens are ok but fairways are in terrible condition. Will not be back unless they actually grow grass
No grass
The fairways mainly had zero grass and a majority of the tee boxes had zero grass as well. Terrible conditions. You’d rather play in the rough than in the fairway because you knew you had grass at least.
Pretty bad, with the potential for improvements.
The course is in shambles right now, dead grass fairways and horrid greens. The pace of play is also an issue. I once saw a group of 6 teens playing on one hole. They took 5 minutes to advance 40 yards. I’m sure the course looks better in the late summer but I’ll stay away until then.
Disappointed
Course conditions were terrible. I’m sure they’re working on it, judging by huge mounds of sand off the back side of the club house, but should have made this known. Grass was hard to find, weeds yes, mud yes, bare dirt yes, grass no! I realize this is a budget course and college town, but the players there was ridiculous. We were offered to play through a few times, as soon as we teed off, ready for next stroke, they where hitting into us. Came across two ridiculously large groups. Even at discounted fees, won’t be going back.
