It’s a very tight course
So I wanted to get a round in before catching a OSU baseball game. Thought I’d try this course. I found the course in good shape. The greens were very nice. However, it’s a VERY tight course. You are going to almost hit people. You are going to be looking for balls flying at you. Several tee boxes are right beside greens. My biggest complaint was the pace of play. It took 2-1/2 hours to get through the front 9. I was finally able to play through some very slow hackers and the back 9 played faster. It would be a better course on a weekday for pace as it was full of teenagers that gave more thought to themselves than those around them.
Not worth it
Front nine is a joke, stupidly short holes, greens and tees right next to each other, you are not safe from errant tee shots, back nine somewhat better, will not be going back, ever!
Great Value for Money
First time playing this course and really didn’t know what to expect. Was thinking in might be a lot of 3 and 4 par holes being a Links course set in the middle of an apartment complex. Was I ever wrong! This course has everything you would want from a course with plenty and I mean plenty of water snaking through the entire course and lots of sand traps and blind shots. The greens were well maintained and deep green in spite of it being almost December. Very predictable flow of greens throughout and actually held pretty well. I would highly recommend this course if you like a very tight fairway on most holes. Can’t elaborate much on clubhouse or food but staff was friendly. Great bang for the little bucks .......
Good place to golf that’s not crowed.
Excellent course nice and green like it should be and it’s a little tight but it’s a fun course
Great course, always busy
This is a beautiful wonderful well kept course. I’ve very rarely been able to book only 9 rather than 18. It’s always busy and so the speed of play is quick! You cannot mess around without having to let people play through. Greens are fast but don’t break as much as I thought they would.
First Time On - WILL BE BACK!
I've played a number of courses around Oklahoma, including the Links counterparts in OKC and Norman (I live in Norman) and saw a hot deal come up for $10 so I jumped on it and headed to Stillwater with my girlfriend (who is a very beginning level golfer, but I decided this would be a good time to get her on a somewhat nice course.) For both of us it came up to $27.90 and I have a coupon code for $20 off so we got on for relatively free. I was stunned at the course when compared to the Links at Norman or the Links at OKC. In Norman, you are constantly surrounded by apartment buildings, but here in Stillwater, you almost forget you're playing at an apartment complex. The winding creeks and ponds give this place a feel as though you're no longer in Oklahoma, and it was amazing. I will say, especially with the opening holes, this course is rather difficult, even for golfers who are somewhat consistent. I feel as though if I went back now, after playing it once, my decision making would be greatly improved. But I found myself putting the driver back in the bag, even for most of the par 5's (especially on the front). But despite the difficulty, the course presents itself phenomenally, and really was beautiful.
MY ONLY COMPLAINT - The bathrooms were closed (possibly due to COVID-19, but not sure) so we had to use a porta-potty, which was all the way on the other side of the course from the clubhouse. But I imagine this will be fixed soon :)
Thanks for a great round, Stillwater!
This is a fun course to work your iron game.
This course is really good for working out your irons you can play the entire thing without a driver. It is very tight in some places .
course is in excellent condition for this time of the year
I would recommend this course to anyone. Great value for the money. I have played it 5 times in the last 2 months.
This was a good course. Played in 4 hours. Course well maintained, staff friendly and helpifujl.
Always Great
Been comeing here off and on last two years and if I played a little more I would buy a membership here. Carts are always clean and ready to go. Turf managment is the most consistent around. Other courses around blame the elements for poor greens and tall fairways yet here they are always perfect. They have one of the best hamburgers around for a great price so I always plan to eat lunch here when I play. Staff is always helpful and friendly never had a bad encounter. Cant say enough good things about this place.
