Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

Great course but tough layout
Let me start off by saying the course is gorgeous! Other then that the range is awful the mats were about 10 years old with no green left on them. The course is tough though, not very forgiving you have to place your ball perfect to set yourself up. Wouldn't recommend it for beginners. Other then that course is gorgeous very well maintained and staff was nice.
Great greens and fairways
the course is challenging with various hole layouts and elevated t boxes. the greens were in good shape but sometimes the greens had ball marks that some players never fixed. that's not the courses fault but the people who play should respect the course. the hesitic jews bought the place and I heard they will put condos on the links course but no one really knows. get out there and play it before its gone!
Teeoff1026
Had a great round beautiful course, starter was awesome as was rest of staff , will play here again, too bad they sold links course. One issue was some bunkers on links course need to be raked of rocks , put a chip in my sand wedge
Solid Course on Naturally Sandy Terrain
Played Ridge/pines combo. It is a very cool design; intentionally sandy and scruffy. Greens were in good shape not lightning fast but true and playable. Walking not allowed in the mornings which was disappointing.
Beautiful Course
One of the nicest courses I play. Unfortunately I just found out the course was sold and will be torn down to make a housing development. This was a very sad thing to hear. I will be playing it as often as I can before the bulldozers start.
Great Course
Played the two 9's that were not the Links. Good shape, good variation of holes, greens in good condition, overall a very good course.
Pretty good
Pros: Course was in pretty good condition. Looked very pretty, played ok, wasn't too wet or firm. Tee boxes were a little iffy, but were playable, fairways were nice, bunkers were weird as they had lots of rocks in them, but they were all playable and pretty nice, and greens were pretty nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful, which is always a good thing.
Cons: a couple of small things that really kept it from getting the remaining star. The bunkers were not raked, which is more the players fault than the courses, but still something negative. The practice facilities weren't great, the range was hitting cruddy balls off old mats, the chipping green and bunker were total garbage and almost unusable, and the putting green was kinda small and far away from two of the three first tees. The carts were electric which was nice, but the seats were almost caved in kinda, which meant you weren't sitting on any padding really. The last thing was the layout was only ok. On the pines course, I came in with a pitching wedge on like 5 holes out of the 9. That just isn't all that fun and very repetitive when that happens. Also, the links course course wasn't very "links-y". The 9 had a lot of trees, wasn't pretty soft and not firm, and had small greens. I know this is nit-picky, but not what you expect from a links style layout, so be prepared for that.
Overall, for $86 dollars (not including range balls,) I'm just saying it could have been a LITTLE bit better. The course was in good shape, which is always the important thing, which is why it got 4, but the other small things didn't get it the fifth. I played the Pines/Links course, and some holes were very repetitive on the first. Overall, I would go back and play again, as it is a fun course and looks appealing, but just a couple of small things irked me a little bit that didn't make it perfect to me.
Great Course
The course is in great shape. Rough is not easy but fair. Fairways are perfect. People do need to fix their ball marks on the greens though Will def. play this course again!!
Extremely tough find the fairway or lose your ball
Wish it was closer.....
Great course, well maintained and staff is freindly. Food ia pretty good as well. Played here about a half a dozen times and have never been disappointed with the aforementioned. The only negative to this round was it took 5:07 to play, not really waiting on every shot but we all know the deal with golfers and pace-of-play issues and what WE all can do to play faster. I travel about 1.5 hrs to play here so as the title states I wish it was closer as I love the pine trees, natural sand areas and the Carolina feel. I'll be back and I recommend playing here.
Well kept challenging course
First time at this gem of a course. Played two of three nines and then signed up again to play another 18 so I can get to play links course. Though it was windy when I played it was very rewarding outing. Greens were in great shape and fairways were well manicured. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Worth the trip if you don't live close by!!
A real mans links
Great round of golf , you must hit long drives and hit the greens
Thanks for the review. Our course can be challenging, but fun!
