Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

Eagle Ridge A+ Yet Again
We played the back 9 (Ridge I believe) and the Links in the back. I played with 2 people who have never played this course before, and they loved it.
We booked the tee time on Tuesday to ensure we would get out. After waiting on the weather all week, the rain had held up for us throughout the entire round. It was great.
We got there somewhat early and the starter was a great guy; he told us to go hit a couple balls and get back here and he would let us out there early. I would recommend just getting a large bucket for all 4 of you, because the buckets are kind of big.
The starter placed us behind a group who was not only good, but also playing best ball. We did not have to wait at all throughout the round. Another thing I liked about yesterday's round was that no one was placed directly behind us.
Overall, the round was everything I could have asked for. The weather held up, we were rushed, and we weren't waiting. We even got to play the challenging links course.
One negative I did notice was the massive divots on the greens. I feel like I see that on almost every course, but if everyone were to fix 1 divot on the green every time a group walked onto the green, the greens would be that much better.
Eagle Ridge
Eagle Ridge is one of my favorite courses in the area. With the 18 hole option along with the 9 links holes, you can get a taste of all different types of golf.
We started at 10, then played the front nine as the back nine. Playing twilight, it was as if we had the whole course to ourself.
Even with a weeks worth of rain, the course still played pretty well.
The fairways were in good shape, and the greens were in alight shape. One thing I did notice is the lack of divot fixes on the green. If you're going to be that good and get GIRs, you should have the courtesy to fix it when you get to the green. It only makes everyone else's game better as well.
When playing the front and back nine, there were some beautiful views to capture as the sun went down.
This is the course that I would play each weekend if I had to play a course that provided quality and a good price, but I like to try different courses out.
This place gets pretty packed in the summer, and I wouldn't expect the same pace of play and freedom we had yesterday, in July.
One thing I have noticed in the past is that although members do get special privileges, I don't think that they have the right to cut in front of a group on their way back from the links course. This has happened to me and my group numerous times; when reaching the 17th hole, we are all of a sudden backed up because people from the links decide to cut in front of us on the way back, hitting 17 and 18. I understand everyone wants to get those extra couple of holes in, but this has caused me and my group to miss the 17th and 18th hole due to time, because people who have got their 18 holes in decided to cut us off to get more holes in. That isn't fair in my opinion.
All in all, beautiful course. Provides challenges, simplicity, nice greens, and amazing views. I would play this everyday if I could.
Ball marks
Good food good range fun layout on the ridge/pines. It has ups and downs good bunkers and some bad ones. Some well thought out holes, some not well thought out at all, for example, hole 12 straight away par four one or two fairway bunkers on the left side of the fairway. When in said fairway bunker which is a penalty to a golfer as it is, the green is blocked by trees, fully blocked. Makes zero sense. Conditions are usually prime but the greens almost always have 100's of ball marks, so find your line and start fixing. It's most certainly worth playing here for an interesting round as Iong as the price isn't out of control.
Nice layout,Great staff, lousy condition
Just aerated,NO WARNING,Tee boxes had no grass and you needed a hammer to get a peg in the turf.staff was friendly and courteous ,and course has a great layout.Emails should inform the patron of aeration and conditions for the price of the place.
Nice course
Played this course on a Friday and the pace of play for our foursome was good. We played the Pines for the front nine which had some challenging holes made for the risk reward golfer. They sent us to the Links for the back nine and I really loved the change of the layout. Food was good, staff was very friendly and all in all the course was a great place to play and I would recommend it to friends.
very good
great course but today extremly windy
Always fun
I have played here about 5 times and felt that the course was in excellent shape for this time of year. Got to play the links nine for the first time and it was a lot of fun. A few rolling fairways, a moderate amount of water and elevated greens made for a nice, but not impossible, challenge. Look forward to playing again soon.
Great Course
this was my first time playing Eagle Ridge. What a nice course, very scenic. The course is in great shape, the greens are well maintained and roll true. Every hole had a challenge to it with out being so difficult, that a high handicapper will still love this course. The staff was very friendly and accomidating. I will be back to play here again. I loved it.
Great course
Had excellent weather for December, course in great shape from tee to green.
Beautiful course
Was very happy to play here. Course was in very nice shape for the time of year. The holes seemed on the short side though. Would have liked a couple holes a little longer. Besides the know it all that we got linked up with(1st time out I actually wish I had a different tee time) I had a very nice experience and would love to play here a couple times a month
This course fits my game!!!
the reason I love to play this course is the three nines all play well for me. I love the set-up, and the fine condition of the fairways and greens are always top notch. my compliments to the entire staff.
Beautiful big greens!!
People need to fix ball marks on greens. Replace divots!! If that course is played by members someone needs to get in their case!! Beautiful course
Exceptional Round
First time playing here. Great layout with unique features on every hole. If you like a course where each tee shot requires some thought (as opposed to just trying to bomb driver every hole), give this place a whirl.
Hit em' straight !!!
This course is clearly maintained very well. They take great care of it. It was an overcast day and a few rain drops before we tee'd off but it was clear by the time we turned to the back 9. Conditions were a little wet but totally playable. The only thing I will warn you about it, HIT EM STRAIGHT. this course is not meant for higher handicaps. The chutes are narrow and fairways are tight. If you keep it in play, you'll enjoy your round, but if you're the type who finds yourself out of position looking to scramble back to play or greens, you will def be punished by this course. Best advice, play smart and take your medicine when you find yourself in the trees, otherwise it will be a long day for ya :) Overall, I'll give this place a B+/A.. and will be back for sure now that I know the lay of the land.
Pines to links was a great treat
Played Pines and then Links course loved both layout and holes keep it interesting without being goofy except for the last hole on links which has a blind tee shot to a dog leg with water on the left and Tall fescue on the right with a narrow landing area this hole is not worthy of this course. Course was in excellent condition I would have rated it 5 stars but it seems no one repairs divots or ball marks. A must play at $ 40
Sunday round
This was my first time playing the course. The course was in great shape. The lay out was amazing. I played the ridge and links as a single and didn't have any problems with pace of play. The course was challenging with some blind shots. The yardage book came in handy for knowing the lay out of the holes. Looking forward to playing the course again.
great Country Club quality greens condition and speed
was impressed with greens. condition and Speed were Country Club Quality. Sees alot of golf and picking the right boxes is important. NO ONE should be playing back of the whites unless you are a legit 14 or less handicap! be honest you know who you are. cant break 100 or hit it longer than your shadow! move up have fun.
Great Conditions Pines to Ridge
This was only my 2nd time playing this course and I love it. The course conditions are great, the holes are interesting, even the seats on the carts are extra comfortable. I had a coupon, so the price was great also.
09/03
As a single paired up with 3 more players. played 1-9 and 19-27. Got lots of chances to play in the sand. Course in good shape, greens great but alot of ball marks to fix.
