Jersey Meadow Golf Course
About
Once home to one of the world's largest herds of Jersey dairy cattle, the site is now the Jersey Meadow Golf Course. The course has evolved and changed dramatically over the years, including a major renovation in 2004 that replaced all the greens with Bermuda grass. The layout is routed through groves of mature oaks, providing a secluded feel to most of the holes. The golf course has a classic design that is still a fair test even by modern standards. Water comes into play throughout in the form of ponds, lakes, and winding creeks that weave through the holes. The 14th is a particularly memorable water hole with a creek all along the left side leading to the island green. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and the greens have subtle but tricky contours.

Conditions poor
Greens poor, fairways terrible, tee boxes really bad. Bunkers are the best I’ve seen in Houston. Normally in Houston you’re playing out of builders sand and when that’s wet you might as well play off the cart path.
Won’t go there again until late spring
Slow play
Spent nearly 5 hours waiting on every tee and every second shot. Two groups in front of us playing sliwly and Marshall not concerned although 2 holes behind proceeding groups. Very disapointing.
Ridiculously Slow Play!
We play a lot of golf. We know Saturday golf is slower than weekday golf. And golf courses are busier in the first nice day filling several crappy days of weather. But Jersey Meadow was RIDICULOUS today! They must have Boone’s tee times about 60 seconds apart. Cart path only, which slowed play more, although fairways were plenty firm. It took 15 minutes to play the first hole. A threesome ahead of us, kids, two of whom supposedly worked at Jersey Meadow, were incredibly slow. We drove around them, went by the next 3 holes, but they were packed, packed, packed. Went back to parking lot, loaded clubs back in the car. Complained in the pro shop, asked for a refund if $50 x 2 green fees, and they only refunded 2x9 hikes back. Drive to Willow Creek, played 9 in less than two hours, 90 degrees rule.
Don’t try to play Jersey Meadow on weekends!
Nicer after Renovation
Hadn’t played this course in years and not since it was last renovated. It was probably a 3 star course before and I’ll say it’s 3.5 to 4 now. Nice improvements in the layout. Didn’t like the old #18 but don’t mind it so much as #9. Great move making the old #9 now the finishing hole. It’s a better course now with some holes rerouted, shortened and some new or rebuilt greens making it a challenging, yet fun layout. I’ll definitely play it again. Lady (manager?) behind counter at pro shop was a bit rude but we did arrive 5 minutes before our tee time and she looked really stressed out from the course being so busy so I get it (but don’t forget that most of us play the game to have fun, get out and enjoy the outdoors with friends and take a break from OUR normally stressful jobs and lives so it’s a bit disappointing to be greeted with stress at the course). My friend brought his 2 teenage boys who are fairly new to the game and all of us had a great time. Pace of play was fine to me. We had to wait a couple of times on groups in front of us and also let 1 or 2 faster groups play through but that’s par for the course (pun intended) so no big deal.
Slow!!!
Paid for 18 holes it took over 3 hours to play front nine! Didn’t play back nine. Not a Marshall in sight all day! HORRIBLE! Greens cut so short like putting on a Volkswagen hood!
Course conditions are good, amenities need work
The greens are in good condition. The course is tight and you have to watch other golfers on several holes because you could hit them and they could hit you.
The public restrooms are a disgrace. I used several during my round and every toilet was broken and over-flowing. The smell was terrible. They need to work on every one of them.
You get treated differently if you book on line.
We were a twosome and arrived early. Bought range balls, practiced putting and watched the starter pair up twosomes, add singles to threesomes and leave the first tee open while he waited for golfers to check in for their tee times. When we asked if we could go, we were told: " When you book with Golf Now, the pro says you have to wait until the time you booked," I am also a member of the Senior Men's Golf Association. Bad Attitude.
Great day for golf
Good course today. The greens were nice. Pace was slow on the back nine but gave the opportunity to play with a really nice couple out enjoying the day together...
Course condition is fantastic
All the tee boxes and greens as well as the fairways are above average. The course staff is friendly and professional.
Golf in Jersey Village
That Sunday the course had a slower pace of play. The greens were fast and in great condition. The course was in good shape. The holes are tight layout. Good challenge.
Renovated
1st the ugly a single held me and my buddy up on the front 9, No martial to speed things up. I single decided to start on the back 9 because the front 9 was crowded and joined her my buddy and I and wished you had to wait on the single with us 3 A few times on the back 9. Hose 8 and 9 other front are now hole 17 and 18 on the back and vice versa Making 3 part threes on the front 9 and a par 34 on the front 9. Back nine still plays a par 36 which makes the course a par 70, greens rolling good fairways a little rough, but course is in pretty good shape, overall good outing.
Hidden Gem
For the price of a round this is a great golf course. It’s near downtown in a quiet neighborhood with some awesome wildlife. Considering the weather which was raining and 40° the course was in good shape. The staff was friendly and eager to help. The course was a bit challenging but will most definitely be back
They Basically Stole My Money- Do Not PreOrder Rounds of Golf
I bought a round of golf for 2 people for about $50, and saved about $5 by pre ordering the round. This was a HUGE mistake. It was wet and raining the day and time of the reservation. I even called them, and they said don't come, just call GolfNow and cancel the reservation. I took 2 weeks to get a hold of GolfNow (It is suprisingly hard to get ahold of them via phone), and once I did, I told them the situation. They called this Golf Course, and the Golf Course told them they were open, so I could not get a refund. DO NOT preorder reservations from here, at least I would not recomend. I don't know how the golf course actually is, it might be nice. All I know is I feel scammed by this golf course.....
Always a great experience
This course is a jewel and a great value, it’s always kept in good condition, the bunkers are always perfect with beautiful, fluffy white sand, we happened to play on the week they over seeded so it was over watered and cart path only, but that’s to be expected.
Overall a great experience
Disrespectful marshal leads to stressful Sunday
I’ve played at this course quite a few times...average course that has made some decent improvements. Now they need to improve their marshals to coincide with the improvements they have made to the course. Outside of the course starter, funny guy with good stories, most of my encounters with the other marshals have not been pleasant. I don’t like the manner in which I have been addressed or spoken to while out on the course. Marshal Bill, or should I say Boomer Bill, is a real character. He began his interaction with me by rudely shouting “hey” and for some reason thought he could condescendingly speak down to me like I’m some backwoods hillbilly peasant. His lack of respect and professionalism was at a minimum absolutely preposterous. He then continues on to egregiously accuse my group of being 10 minutes behind pace when we were in fact about 30 minutes ahead of pace. I might add that the course was playing as cart path only and we still had only been playing for 90 minutes heading into the 9th hole. He then had the audacity to make us wait at the turn and demanded that we let, not one, but two groups pass us by. This delay cost us 30 minutes and caused my lower back to tighten up. The last thing I want to deal with is feeling like I need to rush my shots to accommodate someone who either can’t tell time or do basic math in their head. I’ve never had an encounter like that before and it ruined the round and took away from one of my hard earned Sunday’s!
Marshall needs to pay better attention.
Pace of play is 4 hours and it was cart path only due to the poor drainage of the course. We’re teeing off on hole 9 - 1 hour and 30 min in when the Marshall tells us we are 10 minutes behind pace and need to let the group behind us play through at the turn. Which we did not understand but agreed. He drove off and apparently failed to relay this to the group that was supposed to play through because we waited almost 25 minutes for them to tee off on hole 10 and ended up letting two more singles play through. We finished in 3 hours and 50 minutes total. Just not the quality / treatment you expect when teeing off during prime time on a Sunday.
