Great Value
Hot summer day. Course is two distinct nines. The old course is a mostly open back nine with the new course being a tighter, tree lined front nine. Most holes have water in play off of the tee. Fairway and green side bunkers have excellent, soft white sand, not found in a lot of more expensive tracks. Being such a hot dry summer, my only complaint were some tight, dry lies in some spots. Looking forward to it maturing over time.
Very nice course
This course is challenging and very well maintained. I would definitely play here again.
Great improvement
Course is being well maintained. Current progress in removing Allen limbs, clearing of forest floor have definitely assisted in quicker round. Needed asap - major work on cart path - very bad condition.
Great golf course, green is excellent , nice layout , challenging golf course
I would definitely come back. I paid $25 through golf now, great deal
Bring balls and clean out the bag
Tough course ... have your 'A' game .. true roll greens ... Kentucky blue grass for rough ... lots of water ... put a scope on your clubs and fire !
Good Deal
The course is much improved from a couple of years ago. Fairways, greens, sand traps in excellent shape. Interesting enough layout. Greens running very true and presenting some challenge. Clubhouse facilities pretty basic, but of no concern to me. Looks like they're still working on improving cart paths and aesthetics, but again, the course is much improved over what it was the year before last.
New Owners
Played this course several times in past known as Whitetail. New Owners Cardinal18 called now. Big improvements and more coming. Sand traps NOW excellent to play. Course cleaned up and thinned put a bit. Very nice.
Whitetail
Very enjoyable afternoon. Course was in good shape, except the greens had recently been aerated. All in all a very good experience
Challenged
This course is a challenge to even the most avid player. Lots of water, tight lies and be sure to stay well clear of the fescue. An errand shot is a lost ball 99% of the time. I can see why they retrieve 5000 balls a season!
All in all I feel this is a great value and if I lived closer would consider a membership . The only item I wish they would improve is the bunkers. Very minimal sand and not very challenging to escape from.
Fun and interesting course - keeps you honest.
Pretty good shape considering the drought conditions.
Fairways excellent - greens showing spots of brownout from the weather and recently aerated, but otherwise look to be in pretty good shape.
Will be back.
Thank you for your comments regarding Whitetail! We are so glad you enjoyed your round. Come back anytime!
Don't bother.
This course is in horrible shape. They were sanding the greens and made us stand in the fairway for up to ten minutes at a time while they worked. Tee boxes were rough and had no markers placed. Not worth the trip. Would not recommend playing here.
Great conditions considering the heat
This was a fun course. They have a few odd holes, some blind tee shots, some unmarked bunkers that you can't see.
Fairways were in great condition, as were the greens. Some greens need some attention, however the ball still rolled true.
This was my first time playing the course, you definitely don't need to hit your driver on this course. It is a challenge and you would score better on your second round in my opinion. I will play here again.
good golf
the course is in good condition and plays very well. Always a good time and a good challenge.
Tight Fairways, High Rough or Water Beyond
As mentioned by other reviews, local knowledge is key on this course. Accuracy is also a must - if you stray off the mostly small landing areas you'll find yourself (or more likely not find yourself) in the tall grass or water. Course was in ok condition, a little dry, but greens mostly good. Tee boxes were not though. Guy who checked us in was very chatty, he thinks he's funnier than he is, and some comments might be taken the wrong way, I think he was trying to be friendly/funny so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Stagnant water on 16 holes makes golf a challenge, but the bigger challenge was avoiding the mosquitoes and deer flies that love the environment. All in all, I've played at worse places and paid more, but I don't think I'll play this one again.
Leave the Driver in the bag
This was our first time playing this course so the lack of course knowledge made it even more difficult than most courses as placement is everything to score well. I only used the Driver a couple of times as most holes call for a 200-230 yard tee shot. The greens were fast and true very nice. The fairway were dry and hard great for the ego they sure could use some water.
Take extra balls
Whitetail is a challenging course with lots of hazards and lots of water . Take extra balls, you will need them !!
whitetail golf
the course is beginning to take shape.
they seem to be doing a lot of work on the course.
Great value
Lovely course - lots of water but a good challenge.
Good course to play
Course is in very good shape concedering the lack of rain. Like this course as it is a challenging to play but fair.
Thank you for recommending our golf course! We will pass on your bunker concerns to the superintendent. We hope you come back again soon!
