Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Fair course but overpriced.
The course was in better than average condition for a Houston golf course open to public play. The greens were slow because the staff has to heavily water them to save them from the 2023 heat wave. That is understandable. But, a Carlton Gibson course is not a Tier 1 golf course. At $73.00 per player it was overpriced.
Thanks for the rating. We hope to see you again soon.

First time playing the course
Greens and fairways where in good shape. However the sand traps were awful. Some had water in them, others had small rocks that would damage your club and some had rocks all around the top of the bunkers no sand at all. Staff were friendly. Golf carts are all like 20yr old need serious updating.
Thank you for the review. We hope to see you again soon!
We’re thrilled to see you had a positive experience. See you again soon.
Pace of play
There was a group of 4 playing a scramble or best ball whatever you want to call it. No one in front of them. Took my group of 4 me and 3 others. 5 hours to play 18. Our tee time was 8:20 am. They wouldn’t let us pass. And they took their sweet ol dandy time. Also could barley hit a ball off the tee box
We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. We will share this with the team.

Awesome greens!
Greens in great shape right now, rolling awesome. Putting green is also awesome it is true to the course. Pace of play was good for 8am on Sunday.

Hot time at Cinco!
New carts (finally, greens in good shape, staff is friendly
Pace of play was great, we (2) got waved thru on a par 3 by the only other group (4) on the course!
The Heat had most at home..
Thanks so much for the kind words. Hope you have an amazing day!
Yes. 100bucks. But 100% worth it by any houston comparison
Pace of play on a great saturday morning 730 t time was perfect. We never waited more than 2 minutes and even then it was only about 2 minutes every third or fourth hole
Really glad you had a positive experience. Thanks for reviewing. Hope to see you again soon!
Overpriced
This is a good course. The staff is great. But for a weekday round at $86 is just wrong. There are ruff areas on some greens and hard pan under all the trees and in numerous places every where. It is a decent course and maybe at best $60 on a weekday. It’s not worth the $$$.
Thank you for the feedback. We are always looking for ways to increase customer satisfaction and we'll use your comments to improve.
Thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry we did not live up to expectations. We’d love to learn more so we can improve.
Pace of play
Lots of new golfers lately but pace of play needs to be enforced. When the group is taking 25-30 jacks per hole they need to pick up and go to next hole. We sat on hole 1 for 25 minutes and had 3 other groups backed up
Thanks for the review and your feedback. We'll use it to improve. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Cinco Ranch Very Playable
Booked with GolfNow four days ahead easily; fair price for the round; course fairways a bit thin, but we need rain; greens fast & in good shape; bunkers in very good shape, unfortunately(!); driving range grass in poor shape; clubhouse amenities nice; a good day!
Thanks for the review. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Cinco Ranch and hope to see you again soon.

First time
First time playing course. Reviews had been mostly positive. I did have to share a cart for the first time ever. The positive of this was being paired with someone who plays course weekly. This really helped being a first time player at course to have an unofficial caddy with course knowledge. Overall, course was in good shape. Greens were mostly good with exception of #9 which had some bare spots on water side. Tee boxes needed work and had a lot of bare spots on white tees. Lots and lots of bunkers! Course has a links-feel with water, trees and bunkers coming into play. A fair course overall. Although it's a distance to get to course, it's worth playing again in the future.
Thank you for the review. We're glad you enjoyed your day at Cinco. Hope to see you again soon.
