Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Great layout
Cinco ranch good golf course has a cc feel topped off with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
9 holes at Cinco
I like this course I just wish people would fix their ball marks on the green
Over Booked, Over Played, Over Priced
I’ve had issues with Cinco Ranch for awhile now. The course used to be a decent priced & fun course to play.
Now the tee times are stacked on top of each other, pace of play is poorly managed, and the greens are over played and usually have divots all over.
Yesterday was the final straw. They booked two events on the same day, and allowed the public to book tee times - knowing they already have a cart availability issue. The public tee times were backed up 30+ minutes and we ended up just having to get a refund because it very likely could’ve been delayed over an hour with the amount of people waiting on carts.
I will not be going back or giving that course another dollar.
Tactical golf
You’ve got to think your way around Cinco. Stay.right on 1. Left on 4. Right then left on 6. Right on 10. Left on 11 and not too far. Stay right of the traps on 13 and 15. If it’s getting dark target the steeple on 18.
To much $$$ for the condition of the xourse
The greens were absolutely in terrible condition. How they could charge as much as they do is ridiculous. I played Jersey Meadow for less than half the price the day before and the greens were in much better shape.
A Marshall is needed....
This is my favorite course for many reasons, however, the one thing that throws things off is that there is no marshall to control the pace of play and the abuses of some golfers.
Yesterday there was a group of 6 people in front of our group and three golf carts!!!! with two non-golfers who just decided to try out a few shots too, just for fun, a Marshall is needed to avoid this type of situation.
Good public golf
Cinco Ranch gets a lot of play. Very popular Katy, Tx course. Greens and fairways in good to very good shape. The cart paths and areas adjacent show a lot of wear, but that’s to be expected at the price point (a bargain) and age of the course. If you want to play a pretty good course that will test your skill I highly recommend. Other nearby courses are almost 2x the cost.
Great course and friendly staff
Had a great time playing at Cinco Ranch, would highly recommend it.
Decent course but not for the money
Decent, somewhat challenging course - but not worth the tee time they charge.
