Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Bad cart seat
There were 3 cart left with no windshield and the seat has no cushion on the driver side. Cart needs to be update please.
Extremely Slow
I purchased it on hot deals to play 18 holes in the afternoon (4:30 PM). My tee time was pushed back 30 minutes after I arrived and then we were sent behind a Jr. Tournament. It took over 3 hours to complete 9 holes and it was too dark to play any longer after finishing the 9th hole. Priced too good to be true!
Unbearably slow pace of play due to junior tournament.
I showed up to my 4:30pm tee time and was told they were “running behind,” but nothing was said about a junior tournament in front of us with walkers. We teed off shortly after 4:30pm and we’re only able to get in 9 holes by 7:45pm. Had there been better communication as to exactly WHY they were running behind and let the players make the determination to play or not, or if the course said, if you aren’t able to get in the amount of holes you paid for, here’s a “rain check” for the back 9, I think that would have gone a long way. Better planning. Communication. Transparency. Customer service. Standard business practice.
Cinco
Solid course pretty good conditions decent pace but this course is not worth $106 (holiday price). When you reach that price you should be playing in exceptional conditions i.e. golf club of Houston, black horse, memorial still happy to play there just not for that price
Good Pace
Pace was great, nice personal, course was wet due to rain
Course is in very good condition
Greens were a little slow but it is understood due to high temps and latest round of rain
Nice track
Course was in good shape even after a month of high temps and no rain greens were receptive and held shots well but slow putting speed overall good condition
Needed more wind
When the heat index hits 108, us old timers need about 15 mph. The winds were light and I had to move up to the red tees by the 13th. Greens were crunchy but fast and smooth. I could have used more roll on the fairways but I was pretty tapped out despite hydration up the ying yang.
Pretty good overall
Played here many times in the past. Course is in overall good condition considering the drought and heat we’ve been having. Greens look good but are inconsistent speed wise with many of them being extremely slow. Have a downhill putt stop 5’ short, get the speed right the next 3 holes and then roll another downhill putt 8’ past. Facility needs new carts. Many seats missing chunks, we had to exchange 2 carts due to them shutting down completely and then one with hardly any brakes at all.
Fun and easy course
Everything thing was great until I heard a loud pop when applying brakes and after that no brakes at all for last 4 holes in the dark

Best cart girl and greens
Cart girl came around and was awesome. Greens are always in great shape. Tough course
Good course bad management
Good course being ran by a confused and rude starter who was on a power trip. Not the right person to work as starter!
