About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Neat five hr round when we played. At on point there were 5 groups on hole 6. Not sure if the Marshall wasn’t doing his job or the simply booked too many groups.
Most greens in great condition. Grass on tee boxes, fairways mostly green. Somewhat challenging course. Very slow pace of play. Took over 4 hours to finish. I would definitely play this course again.
Very nice day at the course. The course is in good shape consider weather and the time of year. Great layout and greens are in very good shape. Had lunch at bar. Great service and burgers
Overplayed for the price.
Whoever sets the price needs to rethink the value. Just because it’s in Katy doesn’t mean it should cost nearly 100 bucks to play. Greens look like a war zone with ball marks and divots left untepaired. Not really the course fault, however... run into it more here. No one lets you play through!
Gotta lay up on on 13
The ravine begins 100 yards out from the green. If your tee shot does not clear the fairway traps, one should lay up and play it as a par 5. Cinco Ranch has the best Narshall. He will match you up into a fun group of similar golfers. Pace of play can be an issue. Allow for 4.5 hours on planning a round.
