Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

challenging and a lot of fun
course was in excellant shape. greens, fairways, and tee boxes all great. Pace of play a little slow here because of the amount of play this course gets. Course is challenging from all tees especially when the wind comes up.
Greens and Fairways are good.
The Greens at the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch have almost fully recovered from their recent aeration and are running pretty good. They're not super fast but they're accepting and predictable. The fairways are also good, thanks to the recent rain. And, because of the convenient and accurate GPS system on the golf carts, I greatly enjoyed my round.
Once Again, this course is in good shape
I quit Playing Cinco a couple of years back since the condition of the course had gotten so bad when they lost their greens...
The greens were replaced and they are doing a much better job on maintaining the course..
Played yesterday with my son... Greens, tee boxes, bunkers and fairways were all in good shape... Paid $36 on a Golf Now deal.
We will go back.
This course is too expensive
Mediocer course. Not well maintained. And the greens were arriated. They gave us no warning when we got our tee time or when we paid. We usually only play this course when we get a really good deal on it. I would never pay more than $40 to play here. Could be a great course. Has potential.
Great playing conditions
From tee box to green the course is in great shape looking forward to my next visit.
Good course
This course is fun. No water to hit over, but there are large ditches that are substituted for water.
Another plus is the onboard GPS on each cart.
In the past, the old guys at the starter's shack were rude and/or grumpy. This time they were curtious. Not sure if they are changed for good, but a good start.
GREAT PRICE FROM GOLFNOW! THANKS!
THIS COURSE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I ENJOY VERY MUCH!
The course was in good condition and challenging
Enjoyed the round of golf. I will be back again for play.
Course was in decent condition.
The course had a few interesting holes. While the greens didn't look pretty, they rolled well and had a fair speed to them.
very fair course better if playing for second time
some blind hazards very fair, plenty of sand, greens have alot of undulation. greens firm but receptive to approach shots and roll very nice. Overall condition was very nice. Looking forward to playing it again.
Good course
I enjoy playing this course, a little slow but overall nice experience.
The course can be hard or easy depending on your handicap. Nice place to play always in great condition.
In yesterdays round of golf, we had a threesome that we had to skip a hole because they were searching for the balls off the tee that happened to go in the ditch. They were older gentelmen but you would have thought that they would have waved us through. Instead we had to take it upon ourselves to pass a hole of play for their NON Compliance, or proper pace of play. Plus they were members of the golf club. We had also notice that the marshall should have been around when we needed them. they drive right up to the green and not adhearing to the Carts signs near the green. Other then that a good day. But it only takes one bad apple not three to ruin your day on the course.
Nice tract, but needs attention
Beautiful layout, but traps need a ton of attention and more sand in them. Pace of play not satisfactory....over 5 hours. Had a skins game gioing off at noon with several 5somes. Don't know why the staff is not friendly. I live within 5 minutes of the course, but the last three times I've played there i found the staff to be anything but friendly. I have been driving over an hour each way to play elsewhere because I value service. Need to let only foursomes play on weekend, not twosomes and fivesomes. Where did the staff learn to schedule tee times? BearCreek?
Great course with great staff and best of all happy hour 3-6PM
Well maintained greens and fairways. Enjoyed the couse!
Fantastic Experience!
Great golf course with lots of fun off the tees. Have to play smart to lay up or carry bunkers on a few holes. Challenging but not frustrating for a beginner or experienced golfer. Would have given 5 stars but the greens are a little tired. They told me they have been dumping money into the course for some time now. A friend told me that the greens were TERRIBLE about a year ago so they truly have been fixing the course up! Looking forward to playing again!
Very good course for the money.
Course is well maintained. Greens are in good condition. Good value.
great shape
the course is in great shape, fairways plush greens rolling on a 9 or 10 and true.....GO PLAY!!!!!!
Reasonable course spoiled by people who don't know basic etiquette
4.25 hrs for a single ball was ridiculous - slow four balls not letting people through made for a frustrating round.
Challenging course - greens need attention
It presents some interesting challenges: the greens are fast but a little too hard at times. They do not receive well so backspin is a myth playing this course - I dont think I had to repair a pitch mark throughout the bak to back rounds that I played. There are 2 or 3 sand patches on some greens. Greens run fast but true. Grain direction has not a considerable impact while putting. The rough is high and challenging and the contour of the fairways is nice. Fairways are soft but mind you, on this course, hitting the fairway doesnt necessarily mean you are in good position to attack the green. Some lays are tough and uneven from the fairway. It an entertaining course and perhaps a little more attention to the ignature hole is needed.
