Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Great bargin
Course was in good shape for all the rain we have had. Good pace of play.
Greens were great!
First time playing Cinco Ranch and will definitely return. Started off as nothing special of a course but got nicer throughout the day. Back 9 is a good layout, greens ran very true & well maintained as were the bunkers which are also placed very well....
Cinco Ranch is a fun course with varying challenges
Loved the day. We are thinking to join one of their memberships, we liked it so much.
Good track. Good greens.
It's a good deal on a nice course for a great afternoon of golf.
The course has too many burned out spots in the fairways
The drought has clearly beaten the groundskeepers at Cinco Ranch. There were many times when I had to move my ball from the middle of the fairway because there was no grass, just dried up dirt. Same thing around the greens.
In my experience, Cinco Ranch has very mediocre maintenance and in the past their greens were horrible at times. This weekend, the greens were acceptable but the fairways were the problem.
In this condition, Cinco cannot compete with the higher-end public courses out west, such as Meadowbrook Farms and River Ridge.
Course in excellent condition
Went this morning for an early start on Cinco Ranch.
Dispite the heat and drought during the last couple of months, fairways are green and lush, and greens are fast, even and true.
This course has really become a marvel during the last couple of months.
Well done, keep up the good work.
Great layout!
This is a great course if you can get the hot deals on Golf Now! It is a challenging track that requires some thought to club selection. The greens were slow but it appeared that they were just sanded and aerated which would cause the slowness. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Lots of sand
The greens had recently been aerified, however they were very fast. Only complaint, was the snack bar was closed by noon on a Tuesday, however the young lady in the bar was very helpful.
In reasonable condition
The course was in very good condition except for the bunkers. Many were in very poor condition with just hard gravel like sand. In these bukers it was impossible to take any sand with the shot.
Beautiful Course
Love this course! Only issue is that there are a lot of regulars playing out there that feel the course belongs to them! Besides that we had a great game!
The course is convenient and challenging!
The course was in good shape and we played in 3+ hours which was an exception from my previous experience. The club has good practice facilities and the staff is friendly. The course can be challenging with many holes well trapped but generally wide fairways.
This course was over priced for what it offered.
I played this course while on vacation for the first time. It was on a Saturday, so I expected the course to be crowded. I also expected better course conditions for the price. The sand traps and bunkers were packed and some had mud puddles. The greens had not recovered from aeration, it appeared. The golf carts did not have covers for the clubs during a rain shower, that did pop up. The layout was good.
great course
Great course, challenging at times and greens are always maintained.
Really nice course in West Houston
This course is very nice and very well maintained. There are many challenging holes with lots of water and a lot of bunkers. Course is a great play when you can get a hot deal for <$40. Play it once and you'll go again.
This course is great for the money value
Played the first time at this course and for sure will not be the last. The course was well maintained starting with the Tee Boxes to the fairways and lastly the Greens. Very challenging but not difficult. If I was to say any negative thing it was the starter put a 5some in front of us (2 players). but since the 5some were experience golfers they kept the pace well ahead of ourtime schedule on the GPS. I will be back!
I like the course has good grass and good greens
I like the course, Its a little crowded , but good grass and condition.
Nice course
Course was in good shape. Nice fairways and greens. Good rough and a challenging course.
Course is in very good shape!
Played cinco ranch and this course is always in very good shape, from tee boxes to farways to bunkers and greens. This was not my first time playing cinco and it won't be the last! Just wish it was cheaper to play here on weekends.
Always enjoy playing Cinco and it is very nice shape
Great track to play on and course is in very good shape right now. If you have not played it before you need to try it out.
