About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Fun course and reasonable at GN “hot deal”
Course was in good condition although ALL the traps had no sand and were being rebuilt. Greens were in good shape, tees were mostly all green, and fairways were in great soft shape. After playing we wanted to get a beer and the bar was not open (at only 6:30p!). Carts were in good shape, relatively new.

Course in excellent shape…
Our experience was great. It looks like they are reclaiming all the sand bunkers. There was base put down. We just took our balls out of the ones that didn’t bounce out. The greens were in excellent shape, fairways were all green, just an overall great golf day. We weren’t pushed and we didn’t push anyone. I was afraid of that because they usually book pretty full. We teed off at 1:50 and had a great round.

Great course but rude starter
Great course but rude starter.
I enjoy golfing here but every time I come the starter is extremely rude.
Greens were in good shape but very slow.

Great course
I love the course. Only issue was pace of play. It seems like it’s always crowded. Course is in great shape and fun to play.

Cinco Ranch
Course was in good shape and the layout was very good. Pave of play was excellent on the day I played. It’s a bit pricey since it’s a holiday day and in the morning but I’d gladly go back when the rates are more reasonable. I recommend this course especially for intermediate or occasional players. Staff was decent, and amenities are decent.

Tuesday afternoon at CR GC
Course condition was good, and pace of play was good too. Most staff members were professional but the starter needs to improve his attitude - his human relation skills can benefit from some improvement

Great public course
Course is in great condition overall. The greens are in great shape. Pace of play on a busy Saturday was great finished in about 4 hours.

Rude staff & crowded course
The course was very crowded. The marshal was so rude to us. The starter did not tell us that we were scheduled to play in a group ahead of us. We arrived early so the starter had plenty of opportunity to tell us that. When the marshal came to us around the second hole, he was angry and said that we caused everyone to be behind schedule. He went on and on. It was embarrassing, and we left soon after the second hole. In essence, I paid $90 plus the cart fee to be insulted and made to feel unwelcome. I will never return to this course.

Greens are rolling nice
It was a good day. Greens are rolling nice which is my most important thing. Tee boxes have been a little beat but okay. Really only complaint is greenside bunkers. Make sure they all have sand if possible but not as bad as I've seen around. They're still playable.
