About
Carlton Gipson designed the Golf Club At Cinco Ranch in the early 1990s. It's a long golf course that features an ocean of water impacting play on 16 of 18 holes. For the most part, the holes are straight and open, with minimal trees framing the paths to the greens. The greens are unique because of the unusually shaped bunkers that create very different short game challenges from what one normally finds. One of the best holes is no. 4, a 557-yard par 5 that features an approach shot over water into an elevated green. In addition to the water, the green is fronted by a bunker that is at least 10 feet below the hole. This requires a phenomenal, blind bunker shot for an up-and-down.

Course needs some care, bare spots throughout. Greens were a not true. I would play here again but only if price was half of current rate.
Great value for money, slow that day
Awesome course with some challenging holes.
Great condition for a public course.
Pace of play was super slow that day, but it was spring break (people with kids on the course) and pretty packed. Would definitely play again

Cinco Ranch Very Playable
Greens were in great shape with challenging pin placements, fairways and sand traps generally in good shape, tee boxes a bit threadbare as was the driving range. Good value for the money.

Disappointed
Course has really gone downhill. Greens and fairways don’t appear to be maintained regularly.

Excellent Greens, Hard Ground Fairways
We enjoyed playing Cinco Ranch for the first time.
Pace of play was very good for afternoon ~3.5 hours for 3 some.
Greens are in excellent shape - relatively fast and smooth. I appreciate the local rule of not pulling the pin as many public courses in Houston area develop "volcanos" around the cup due to pulling the flag.
5 foot puts rolled well.
Of note, the lack of rain has caused the fairways to be very hard. Well-hit Drives rolled an extra 20-30 yards, making the holes shorter and easier to score.
Only negative is that the carts don't have GPS.

Staff attentiveness
Cart girl was nowhere to be found after 2nd hole - despite leaving a tremendously generous tip.

Late tee time
410 pm, I knew there would be no chance of finishing 18. That said, I still managed 11 holes on until dark. Greens were the best I’ve ever seen them…smooth and lightning fast. Glad I practiced some downhill putts. Marshall gets everyone organized despite some arriving late.

Slow round 5 hours, it was a beautiful day everyone came out to play. But would definitely play here again, hopefully the pace will be better.

Surprised
They run everyone through like cattle. I prefer other places for the money. The greens were in good shape but there are plenty of courses that are just as good for much less.

Cancellation policy
Had a good time golfing. The course is nice. I had booked the tee times and paid in advance. Got a call from my golf partner saying he couldn’t come cause he threw his back out. At the course the guy in the pro shop told me he couldn’t do anything, and that I had to get GolfNow to refund the money. Tried to cancel and marked the reason for cancellation as injury and GolfNow said it’s not a good enough reason. Guess I’m gonna start calling the courses to book tee times as GolfNow wants money up front and doesn’t want to give it back
