Cedar Creek Country Club
About
The first course developed along Cedar Creek Lake, this one opened in 1967 as part of a rural retirement community. The course’s namesake waterway slinks its way through the course, coming into play six times as you wind your way through the tree-lined fairways.
Holes of note include the 470-yard, par 4 No. 6, which dives through a chute of trees to a large green. Thankfully, this monster is void of hazards. On the back No. 13 is feast or famine–a short par 5 at 483 yards, but a pond sits in the middle of the fairway. The ender at Cedar Creek goes 520 yards and is fairly manageable if you can keep it out of the trees.
Getting there : From Hwy. 175 east, take the Kemp exit, and look for the signs to the course.

First and foremost I gotta say, the staff in the pro shop make you feel right at home, guys are super nice and help you out in any way they possibly can. The course is in really decent shape Greens are still healing from aeration, but are rolling very decent. I will be back
Course in great shape
Course was well manicured and in great shape best I’ve seen it in a long time
Lots of mosquitos on the course which was very irritating.
Always a great time!
I played here for the first time last year and loved it. So I try to play at least once a month ever since. Friendly staff and very good course for the money.
Best course in the area.
I've played every golf course in this area and this one is by far my favorite. Not particularly challenging, which is good for a novice like me. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in good shape. Price was on point and the staff was friendly. Only negative I had was having to leave my drivers license as collateral for a $5 drink cooler, then they had a hard time finding my ID when I brought it back. I've played at a LOT of courses and that was a new one. Will definitely be playing again.
Great course! Hate how it is ran.
Being a person who has played this course for years and being someone who has seen the conditions of the course fluctuate endless times. The one thing that has stayed constant is what seems to be the mission of the members/management of trying to get the course to become a member only course.
The reason I rated the pace of play low is because 2 kids who I am sure just hopped on the course for a couple of holes like I have many times before dropped balls half way down hole 13 and started playing behind my group of 3. As we are getting on the green of 14 they finish 13 and drive straight to 15. Then we are stuck sitting there waiting on them to get to their 2nd shot while a group is in front of them. We told the kids that we are going to hit if they got in front of us. They did not listen so when we had every one of our drives go by them 50 yards they went to tell their dads in the group ahead. So now them kids run off to hole 2 and start playing and the group of 6 drunk guys in front of us that are members start playing slow on purpose. We had experience great pace of play the whole round and had to sit and wait the last 4 holes since longtime members think they own the course.
Course is in the best condition it has been in a long time though.
Country Club
Fairways still thin with grass. Greens fast even though some weeds still in greens grass.
good little east TX course
played it twice via GolfNow...looking forward to going back as it greens up after winter
2nd time was a much better experience
I first played this course on 9/29/20 at 12:50. The Pro shop guy was visually unhappy that I was at his course, and was very rude and dismissive. I swore I would never return but am very happy I did. The gentleman running the Pro shop yesterday was just that, a gentleman.
Head Pro
Head Pro Randy really lacks friendly diplomacy. Unacceptable. I was a guest and he could of cared less who i was or if i was interested in becoming a member. I heard numerous complaints about him . Sorry say but he needs to go and hire someone who has the desire to bring in new members and treat the existing members with great respect and enthusiasm. I'm concerned that this Head pro is a reflection of the club management since they haven't addressed this issue or they may have. I have not seen him smile or laugh once. I very much dislike giving a negative review and recommendations.
