About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Amazing value, super fun course, fassssst greens
Interesting layout in good conditions with LIGHTNING fast greens. Incredible value, well worth the drive from Austin area. Driving range was pretty bare and uneven, but will def be back ASAP!

One of the Best Hidden Secrets in Texas
I have played this course 3 times now and will continue to make the hour drive up from Austin because this course is so much fun to play. The layout is fun, challenging but fair. The greens are immaculate and lightening fast which is hard to find in central Texas. I would recommend this course to anyone no matter their skill level.

Not a good winter course
I’ve played here a handful of times, all during spring and summer and it’s a great course. Challenging layout, and fast greens. But with that said, I played it the first time during the winter, and the course conditions were pretty bad. Tee shots would run through fairways and rough, directly into tall native areas. There’s no difference between fairway and rough. Lost several balls that way. Greens were very patchy and gritty. Almost seemed the last time they punched them, they never grew back in. Tee boxes were pretty bad as well. I booked a hot deal for $25, and glad I did. Definitely not worth any more with current conditions. I’ll be back to play next summer.

Lighthouse round
I drive an hour to play here and it is always worth it. the course layout is unique. And, it is a lovely setting. But, the greens are the secret sauce that makes Lighthouse special.

As good as anything in Monterey Bay Area
Compared to Poppy Hills, Boynet or Blackhorse...this course is just as good....better...at 1/3 of the cost...it’s a steal!

Great value, fast greens
I like this course. It is fairly open and forgiving. The greens are some of the prettiest I have seen especially during warmer whether when they are still green. The greens however are extremely fast and challenging because of the speed. It added several three puts to my game. The staff has always been laid back and accommodating.

Course was overbooked...sometimes 2 groups waiting to tee off ...on Wednesday!

Great day at Lighthouse.
Exceptional day today as we were greeted by a friendly staff and treated right! Only complaint was that it was very crowded and we got off a little late. The greens were super fast, probably a little too fast for the slope on them, but at this time of year it happens. Overall a great experience!

We've played this course numerous times and have never been disappointed. The greens are firm and fast. Pick the right line and it will roll true. The fairways are always tight which I love, course plays fast and fair. Will be back soon!
