Hidden Falls Golf Club
About
Hidden Falls Golf Club is a Leon Howard design that opened in 1974. The course cuts through a pecan grove on the front and what seems like an ocean of water on the back, creating two totally different golf experiences. Howard uncharacteristically left out water on the tight, pecan-lined front, with the wet stuff in play on only one hole. However this one pond plays a role in the best hole on the course, no. 4, which features a pond and waterfall in the landing area off the tee. No. 4 is rated as the most difficult. The more open back nine is dominated by water. No. 10 starts off with a drive of 200-yards-plus over the pond fronting the tee. A small creek comes into play on the next three holes, which lead you to the other signature hole, no. 14. Water lines the left side of the 14th, and the approach is over a small pond. If that's not enough, the final three holes all feature water in play off the tee.

Another good day on the course.
Course was in good shape. Firm fairways made for some great drives, but made chipping a little more of a challenge. Current construction/renovation of clubhouse did not disrupt services at all.
Great Value
The course and greens were in good/great shape after handling multiple freezes in back-to-back weeks. The driving range, chipping area and putting green were a great added value in the preparation for our round. Overall a hidden gem for a great price.
Hidden Falls Is A Hidden Gem!
This course is awesome! Right from the pro shop I experienced a friendly welcome and shared some laughs with some gentlemen in the shop. The fellow running it advised me that there would be 4 4-somes teeing off ahead of me but if I could make on out to the 1st hole, go right ahead. This proved to be very helpful advice and kept my round below 4 hours!
The course has a great layout which challenges you to play skillfully which I appreciate because golf is a game of skill! The front 9 makes you think it’s gonna be smooth sailing but the back 9 is LOADED with challenging holes! LOTS OF WATER but the layout plays well as long as you chose your clubs carefully and know your distances.
The course conditions were pretty good but I would like to see some improvement on some of the tee boxes as a few were heavy sanded but the greens were good and the fairways weren’t bad either. Overall I would DEFINITELY play this course again! It was worth the hour plus drive from Austin especially given the price and not to mention, free range balls are included with your greens fee and the range is grass which I prefer because mats can be too forgiving when warming up to play a round. Looking forward to getting back out to Hidden Falls again very soon!
Bring extra balls for the back nine
Water and blind shots. Fun, would play again.
Great condition and layout
Really awesome time playing recently. Course was in great shape. Greens rolled true and had great pace. Really happy with the deal I got and can’t wait to play again.
Another good day!
Course was in good shape for the time of year. Greens were a little more soft than usual , but were smooth. A few muddy spots from recent watering but nothing that interfered with the greens. A beautiful day and a good round of golf!
Hidden Gem
First tine playing this course. I was blessed with getting matched up with James, who had played there a few times. The course driving range was average at best, but the balls were free with the round so I did not mind. You were hitting off hald dirt, half crabgrass. The pitching and putting area however were very nice. The course itself was in fairly good shape. Most of the fairways were lush. The greens however were also lush.....They were rolling about a 7. They had not been cut in days. It makes it hard to score when the greens are inconsistent. To be honest, playing with James made my day. We matched each other home to hole. I think we both went about 10 over for the round. The course played fairly short. I think I used my driver maybe 5 or 6 times. Lots of dog legs in both directions. It made it challenging which I love.
Great Value
No Sand Bunkers, water near many holes. Nice greens.
Great course for the money!
Had an 8:40 tee time on a Wednesday morning, pace of play was phenomenal, even getting paired with a slower partner we finished our 18 in a little over 3 hours. All the staff was extremely friendly from the clubhouse to the grounds crew. Only complaints I have are just me nitpicking, greens had small clumps of crabgrass growing all over it, but honestly what central Texas putting green doesn’t? Fairways were decently maintained and all for less than $40.
Rough fairways
Fairways look like the rough. Hitting out thick grass in the middle of the so called fairways. Not good.
