Lighthouse Country Club
About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Lighthouse, Kingsland, Texas
Plenty of fun. Unique layout. Course in really good shape. Just fertilized the greens, slower than normal. Definitely play again.
great layout
The course and greens were in really good shape, but the rough is ROUGH. Some very interesting and challenging holes. I amm a 12 HC and played from the blues and were all I could handle and some holes handled me.
Fun Track, Great Value in the Texas Hill Country
We played Lighthouse CC for the first time yesterday; it came highly recommended. We loved the experience: challenging layout, fun environment, beautiful views and scenery, course was in excellent condition - particularly the greens. We will be back for sure, and also recommend to others!
booked tee time on computer before my hour drive to get there. On the computer there was no other tee time taken before or after mine. When I got there, there were 4 groups waiting to tee off. I talked to a threesome that had the 2:24 tee time. Mine was the 2:30 tee time. The pro shop squeezed the other three groups in between the 2:24 and mine. So, I didn't tee off until 2:45. Made it a very slow round. Course was in good shape and enjoyed, other than cramming other groups in front of me
Beautiful Course
This is a very nice golf course. Everyone was helpful and courteous.
Nice course
Liked the course a lot. Greens and fairways better than most around.
One of my favorite golf courses
I really enjoy playing this course. The interior of the course is in a valley and the holes on the perimeter are on hillsides. It has a nice variety of holes many of which are easy to remember due to their uniqueness from the other holes. The layout is somewhat challenging while offering a fair amount of risk-reward opportunities. The course is in excellent condition including the greens. The greens hold approach shots well while putting smoothly. They are somewhat undulating with slope, so downhill and side hill putts warrant special attention. I've played the course from each of the three sets of men's tees and found that each presents a different look and challenge. The scenery around the course is really nice including views of Packsaddle Mountain. This time of year, clusters of bluebonnets are on display, especially near parts of the back nine. I usually play here on weekdays and typically make my way around the course in about 3 hours. They also have really nice Yamaha gas golf carts. I've consistently enjoyed pleasant experiences at this course.
Nice course
They book tee times to close to their 12:30 Friday scramble. Slows play down. Always sit and wait.
Greens are in very good condition
Very good value thru golf now. A bit challenging first time around, beware of creeks. Greens are challenging but in great condition. We really enjoyed the course.
Nice layout
This course isn't the longest by far, but is well defended by the natural terrain. Well designed holes and well placed hazards, both natural and in design. Course was in very good shape for mid-February. Fairways had plenty grass, and greens were in great shape.
SIDS thumbs up!
The guy on the pro shop is awesome. Super friendly and helpful
Beautiful Day, Beautiful Play
The course is in great shape and the greens are well groomed. This a good course for a player with moderate skill from the white tees with added challenge from the longer tee locations. Some rough spots on the cart paths, so slow down. Overall all a beautiful place to enjoy a fun round of golf with friends.
Blue Skies and Green Tees
This course is a fun course to play from the well placed par threes to the dog leg par 5. Beautifully located in a green valley tucked in the hill country of Texas. After your game there is plenty to if entertainment in the surrounding towns.
I played Lighthouse Country Club again today. It remains in excellent condition. The nice carts I referred to in my recent review are actually E-Z-GO carts (not Yamaha).
