Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

This course needs maintenance
Course needs to be manicured , I know the course was flooded, however I think they could do a better job, tee boxes and fairways were terrible, greens were fair
Coure not maintained
The course is rundown. The tee boxes were not mowed and the greens were slow and beat up. Looks like the only water being lut on course is via rain. I was very disappointed in the condition of the course.
Fun layout in desperate need of maintenance
Fun layout but needs real maintenance. Greens were slow, needed mowing, had some weeds. Tee boxes needed mowing. But I'll be back because the layout is fun and can be challenging.
Getting better
I play this course weekly. Fairways have grown in but the greens haven't quite caught up yet. Maintenance is working diligently to get the course back into good shape and have posted signs on the carts and around the greens and tee boxes that you should not drive a cart literally 2 steps from the green or right next to the tee boxes. That said, the course is highly playable and few people are out during the week so the pace of play is excellent. Sometimes there is no one in sight on the course. You need all the shots here because some holes are easy and some will challenge your ever-lovin' nerves. For the $$ you will love it.
Just needs TLC
This course has a very nice challenging layout. All greens are elevated which requires good shot making Else you will get to work in Your pitching shots. Most of the Tee boxes needed to be mowed and the greens were not in good shape. The greens were better on the back 9. The greens rolled fast. With improved greens and improved tee boxes I would recommend the course.
Sad to see the greens in such poor shape. They used to be fantastic but are really bad. Still had a good round and a great day. It's a fun course. Right now it's lush and green and is still seems to be away from everything.
as stated by previous reviewres this course was one of the best in Dallas (hard to walk due to elevation changes) but now, for lack of better words, it is a dump. per the pro shop the city still owns the course but it does have a new manager and by the looks of it the new manager has no idea or just doesnt care what shape the course is in. right of the bat you can see what you are in for by looking at the putting green. also 18 green is easy to see from the club house and you can see it looks just as bad as the practice greens. there are several other courses in the area that are in much better shape for about the same price (again i walk so i am going by the walking rate). lets hope the city see's the reviews and gets a new manager in there who knows what they are doing to ge this course back into the great shape it was in before.
do not recommend
have not played this course in a while. last time i played the course was in good shape.
do not know what has happened since, maybe the course is under new management.
but it is in terrible shape, not worth the price that was paid. got a hot deal price on golf now for $15.00 and it was not worth what we paid. should have asked for our money back. will not play there again unless the course condition are greatly improved.
Beginners welcomed
Course has become go to beginner's course. Greens used to be top 10 in dfw but don't know what happened. Course tee boxes and fairways in sub par condition but playable. Looks like too many "golfers" tearing up the track. Too many Cart tracks left from drivers driving up to the green. Maybe since it has elevated greens and tee boxes lots of lazy golfers driving where they please. Lower end golf course hanging on to dear life.
Golf now price is the difference
Course still coming in from winter. Fairways hard with lots of run. Carts are driven up to the first cut of the greens, therefore there will be crusty conditions on approaches later in the spring/summer. No marshals. There appears to be some maintenance being done now because in the last few months there was none. Few people out so pace of play was good. Hope the new mgmt plans to resuscitate this course.
Down hill
Pace of play was very fast due no one their which I shouldn’t because it was in bad shape, fastest greens in Texas due to no grass mangement blame previous owner fot the rough conditions, but it was great when they took over
Course is going in the wrong direction.
Course needs a lot of TLC. wooden bridges are in bad shape. almost to the dangerous degree.
Course layout is nice . Greens are rough.
First nine was grueling . Was behind a 5some with kids. Finally got to pass at 9 then we took off . Then Marshall told us we were holding up whole course. Don't think he knew we passed them at turn and knowbody was waiting for us . Liked the course layout but the greens were really rough.
