Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Perfect for what you pay
If you’re looking for a secluded, easy, pretty cheap and not overly populated course to play on a Saturday, this is as good as any. Very good for the price. It’s a perfect beginners golf course.
Great Layout, Fun Course!
This was great. Course layout is diverse and really fun, not too difficult. My only issue was that there weren't any ball cleaners or shoe cleaners throughout the course.
Thank you for the 5-Star review! We appreciate the feedback about the cleaners and course layout.
Great round today
The course is in great shape, the staff has worked really hard to get the greens back and they're in great shape. I like how they've roped off the greens for keeping carts away . Elevated greens so have your shot ready. I love this course and the club house is awesome. Great course for the money
Thank you for the 4-Star review, we appreciate the great feedback regarding our course conditions, especially after the maintenance we have received. Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you again soon.
Thank you for the 4-Star review! We appreciate you coming out and hope to see you again soon.
Very nice course
The course is in very good shape. All greens are elevated; and the greens are in very good shape and rolled true. A very nice challenging layout. For wintertime it is worth the drive.
Thank you for the 4-Star review! We appreciate you coming out and hope to see you again soon.
Not worth the drive
Not worth the drive to Lancaster from Dallas. It had rained a lot, and the course was muddy, but playable. Country View just didn't have anything really hard about it.
We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We appreciate your patience as the course has received a lot of rain this peak season. As the course continues to transitions into the hot summer months, we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Great greens
The greens are great. All are raised up which makes them play more difficult but roll smooth. Whites are a little short will play blues next time. Conditions were average but value was great.
Thank you for the 4-Star review, we appreciate the great feedback. Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you again soon.
This course needs maintenance
Course needs to be manicured , I know the course was flooded, however I think they could do a better job, tee boxes and fairways were terrible, greens were fair
Coure not maintained
The course is rundown. The tee boxes were not mowed and the greens were slow and beat up. Looks like the only water being lut on course is via rain. I was very disappointed in the condition of the course.
Fun layout in desperate need of maintenance
Fun layout but needs real maintenance. Greens were slow, needed mowing, had some weeds. Tee boxes needed mowing. But I'll be back because the layout is fun and can be challenging.
Getting better
I play this course weekly. Fairways have grown in but the greens haven't quite caught up yet. Maintenance is working diligently to get the course back into good shape and have posted signs on the carts and around the greens and tee boxes that you should not drive a cart literally 2 steps from the green or right next to the tee boxes. That said, the course is highly playable and few people are out during the week so the pace of play is excellent. Sometimes there is no one in sight on the course. You need all the shots here because some holes are easy and some will challenge your ever-lovin' nerves. For the $$ you will love it.
Just needs TLC
This course has a very nice challenging layout. All greens are elevated which requires good shot making Else you will get to work in Your pitching shots. Most of the Tee boxes needed to be mowed and the greens were not in good shape. The greens were better on the back 9. The greens rolled fast. With improved greens and improved tee boxes I would recommend the course.
Sad to see the greens in such poor shape. They used to be fantastic but are really bad. Still had a good round and a great day. It's a fun course. Right now it's lush and green and is still seems to be away from everything.
as stated by previous reviewres this course was one of the best in Dallas (hard to walk due to elevation changes) but now, for lack of better words, it is a dump. per the pro shop the city still owns the course but it does have a new manager and by the looks of it the new manager has no idea or just doesnt care what shape the course is in. right of the bat you can see what you are in for by looking at the putting green. also 18 green is easy to see from the club house and you can see it looks just as bad as the practice greens. there are several other courses in the area that are in much better shape for about the same price (again i walk so i am going by the walking rate). lets hope the city see's the reviews and gets a new manager in there who knows what they are doing to ge this course back into the great shape it was in before.
NeedsWork
Have not played this course in awhile don't know what happen but it seen better days.
i agree. been playing prairie lakes lately came back to country view and it was bad. worst course condtitions i have seen from every course i have played the past year. ProShop says the have a new course manager. but it doesnt look like he cares about the course at all.
do not recommend
have not played this course in a while. last time i played the course was in good shape.
do not know what has happened since, maybe the course is under new management.
but it is in terrible shape, not worth the price that was paid. got a hot deal price on golf now for $15.00 and it was not worth what we paid. should have asked for our money back. will not play there again unless the course condition are greatly improved.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Country View Golf Club.
