Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Value course- well maintained
The course was a good value for the green fees. Staff accomodated our +4 party nicely.
Good value, but not impressive course
Course has some beat up areas, and the marshalls had no presence. They would roll by, and politely say hello, but they did not press people to play faster. Decent value.
Green are always maintained
I like this course because the ownership understands how important having great greens are to golfers. That's were the money is going (they only have grass bunkers--no sand). The course is relatively short even from the back tees, but it will still present a challenge because of the layout. I've played the course twice and thoroughly enjoyed both rounds.
The course was worth the cost.
THE FAIRWAYS AND PUTTING SURFACE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. THE GROUNDKEEPERS WAS CUTTING THE GRASS AND THE CUT GRASS WAS A HINDERANCE AROUND SEVERAL HOLES. OVERALL WE HAD A FUN EXPERIENCE AND THE PRICE WAS EXCELLENT.
Surprised how nice it was
The course is laid out very naturally. It was nice to see holes carved into nature.
The greens were very nice, the course had some challenges.
Challenging and Fast - Looking forward to next round!
This course is very challenging the first time around with doglegs, huge mature trees, raised greens, and undulating greens. Greens rolled true and fast, and the fairways were in great shape. I did have a few great shots end up in trouble because of ot knowing the course and not putting the ball in the right position. Didn't touch Driver the whole round and never needed it. Next time around I'll hit MORE 4irons and keep it out of trouble.
OVERALL GREAT COURSE - GOES ON THE LIST OF REGULAR COURSES.
Country View June 7th eview
Greens were in great shape. I will definitely continue to frequent the course.
Very Suprised!
We had never played this course but ended up pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. From Tee to Green it was in great shape! All the greens are elevated and tough to hold so be warned. There are not many (or any) sand traps but more water than our average North Central Texas course. It is a bit of a drive from the center City of Dallas but well worth the drive!
Awesome course! I enjoyed every minute of my play there.
Really beautiful course that provides some great challenges all along the way. Plenty of water and outlined shrubbery.
Great Course!
Played on a Saturday afternoon. Scheduled a 1:22 tee time and arrived 30 minutes early. Walked in and the got me right off. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Only issue was there was several groups that did not allow smaller faster groups to play as they should have. Could have played in less that 3 1/2 hours had they let us play through.
excellent!
Every time I come to this course I'm never disappointed! Course is a little difficult for the beginner player but the experience is worth every penny! Staff is friendly, course is always in great shape, and the burgers are to die for. Watch out for the 17th!
Great course for the money
This course had quite a lot of character, with the elevated tee boxes and greens. The greens rolled true, and the fairways were in great shape. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Me and my buddies would definitely play this course again.
Nice greens
Good course for the money, fast greens, and good fairways. Elevated greens make the course fun and challenging, yet wide open in some areas so if you play a bad ball you are not penalized for it
Course is in awesome shape!
I had a group of 6 and we had a blast! Very nice course and even more affordable. Great place to have a large group play and slam some beers! Cart girl Jennifer is very sweet and her beers were cold!
Love & hate this course at the same time.
Plenty of risk reward shots to be had on this track. Be aware of the water that is everywhere & take your medicine when you push the course too far.
good value / quirky course
they maintain the greens well.....play moved along at a good pace considering it was a beautiful sunday.....not overly difficult but be prepared to play to elevated greens (some severely)....hole 17 is just frigging stupid
Course has great features
I strongly recommend this course to any level of golfer. The pace of play can be a bit slow at times but I found the course to be challenging yet fun. Fairways are in great shape along with greens that are easy to read yet yard enough so that you must confident in your putting otherwise this course can eat you alive.
greens a bit slow but very consistent and held approach shot well.
had fun, scored well 1st 18 then played another 18 for 15 bucks. greens slow but true and consistent. cart girl "chandler" was nice, there often and very pretty. call her bing. nice layout with 4 very difficult holes as expected by their handicap #. if you have not played this course you should check it out. if you have you know to come back. definitely need a cart as it is a very hilly layout. most t boxes and greens are elevated and the trek from the 3rd green to the 4th t box will take 15 minutes. the carts are very slow as well. overall a fun experience. good food at the grill.
Good course for the price. Needs work.
The layout for the course is nice. Holes are pretty straight forward. Greens are in excellent condition and the speed is above average. The problem I have is the ground is very hard. The fairway and rough are about the same length, which is very short. If you are a player who gets divots with your irons and wedges, this course will be a problem for you. The ground is simply too hard all around the course. The greens are elevated which adds difficulty to the course.
course is in great shape.
The Staff is very friendly. Course is in great shape. Best Bargain for the buck in the metroplex. If you play here you must have one of their cheese burgers, by far the best golf course burger anywhere.
