Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Nice day
Greens were good. Fairways were dry hard wintery. Short but challenging. Many elevated greens, slopes penalizing missed shots as balls roll way back down. Much cheaper than similar courses, with cart and lunch included.
A gem
Course in boonies but interesting with excellent shot values and very good conditioning. Dormant but in wonderful condition. No houses ! Fairways lined with trees and/or scrub bush. Wonderful back drops. Played on Sunday in nice weather so we waited 30 minutes past our tee time for carts. This course would not be fun to walk.
This course is fun!!
This course for the time of year is in great condition. The greens are tough just an overall fun course to play. The people their are super friendly and will let your round go as smooth as possible.
Very Good
I guess I'm a quasi golf snob. Once you get away from the very meager practice facilities and the bare bones club house you'll find that this course really is a gem. Esp. for the money. Lot's of scenic and challenging holes. The greens were excellent. My only complaints are that the upslopes at the front of every green were saturated muck (it hadn't rained in several days) and the other players apparently don't understand the concepts of raking bunkers or where not to drive their carts. If they can fix those issues the place would be great.
The course has great cheeseburgers
I opted to play here today just because of the free food that came with the round of golf. I played with another friend. First we had our cheese burger and fries and then we went to the range to hit a few balls. We had our Tee time at 11:45am. I was surprised when we were called because I was sure we still had ten of fifteen minutes to go. This was my third time on this course. Our pace of play is moderate and in the first nine holes there was a foursome that played slow in front of us. We passed them when they stop at the club house. After we passed them we thought we were going to go faster only to catch-up another four-some that were slow as well. They motioned to us on hole 11 to play ahead and after that we made some good time. We had a great time. This course has some hole paths too close to each other that balls always end up in our path. This course is challenging because of the elevation of some holes and the water hazards on others.
The course features dog legs, elevated tees & greens. Not enough sand bunker though.
Challenging. When we played there was a wind factor came
into play. Recommend this course.
The elevated greens will challenge you.
This was a very nice course. It was well maintained and the greens were true. The staff was overly helpful. The elevated greens create a challenge but the ball would hold with enough height. Played with my sweetheart and she enjoyed it also. I would recommend this course for a fun outing of golf!
Nice setting
Coure is nicely maintained. All the greens are elevated and offer a unique challenge.
Great cheeseburgers in the club house.
Golf course in great shape, numerous elevated greens
Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. Golf course wads packed with 3/4 persons groups stacked after another. Weather was great & course was in fine condition.
Great Golfing
The staff was friendly and helpful. The course was in great condition. The greens were well kept. The layout is excellent has that "Country feel."
There was a lot of water that brought in the "Risk reward" factor on just about all 18 holes.
Perfect condition of greens & well-maintained fairways
This course has great challenging holes
I liked the course, some very interesting holes,
It is in great shape and the staff was very friendly. The greens and fairway were great.
beautiful surroundings
it's a really fun way to golf. elevated greens are a challenge you'll like. two really tough holes make course that much better - you can always move up it too challenging. many natural areas with beautiful plant life.
very nice
This course was in really good condition. I went on a weekday but I heard it gets Pretty busy on three weekends and I can see why. I love the layout. Even though it is a short course the greens are in excellent shape and plenty of undulation. Doglegs keep you honest as well. Well placed water also. Should shoot a good round and enjoy it
Nice course, though tends to be stacked up
Fun course. My only complaint is the course tends to book folks back to back to back. Can get backed up easily if players are playing slow.
Value course- well maintained
The course was a good value for the green fees. Staff accomodated our +4 party nicely.
Good value, but not impressive course
Course has some beat up areas, and the marshalls had no presence. They would roll by, and politely say hello, but they did not press people to play faster. Decent value.
Green are always maintained
I like this course because the ownership understands how important having great greens are to golfers. That's were the money is going (they only have grass bunkers--no sand). The course is relatively short even from the back tees, but it will still present a challenge because of the layout. I've played the course twice and thoroughly enjoyed both rounds.
The course was worth the cost.
THE FAIRWAYS AND PUTTING SURFACE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. THE GROUNDKEEPERS WAS CUTTING THE GRASS AND THE CUT GRASS WAS A HINDERANCE AROUND SEVERAL HOLES. OVERALL WE HAD A FUN EXPERIENCE AND THE PRICE WAS EXCELLENT.
Surprised how nice it was
The course is laid out very naturally. It was nice to see holes carved into nature.
The greens were very nice, the course had some challenges.
