Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Good course for the price. Needs work.
The layout for the course is nice. Holes are pretty straight forward. Greens are in excellent condition and the speed is above average. The problem I have is the ground is very hard. The fairway and rough are about the same length, which is very short. If you are a player who gets divots with your irons and wedges, this course will be a problem for you. The ground is simply too hard all around the course. The greens are elevated which adds difficulty to the course.
course is in great shape.
The Staff is very friendly. Course is in great shape. Best Bargain for the buck in the metroplex. If you play here you must have one of their cheese burgers, by far the best golf course burger anywhere.
Great value
A elevated green course that will punish you if you can not hit the green. The greens were not in great shape but still putted ok. Hole 17 was a blast since I birdied it. You have room to hit your driver so tee it high and let it fly. They have the best cheeseburger in town.
Fast greens
only played the front 9 but loved it. greens are like golfing on a carpet.
Priced right!
Eventhought course was being worked on, still can't beat the price for that course.4/12
Greens were fabulous!!
This course requires your A game to do well! The greens are elevated, fast & undulated. They require an excellent approach shot...miss the green a little and you will pay! But, they roll so good, it is a pleasure to putt!! Some of the best greens in the metroplex!! I really, really enjoyed my day at Country View! The burger at the grill was fantastic!!
excellent course
this is an excellent layout with terrific champion bermuda greens that are lightning fast but very smooth
not an easy course with elevated greens and tee boxes;,but was in great shape
Nice greens... not much else
This course is not in good condition right now. The fairways look decently green, but it's because they are painting them green. A guy driving a gator was literally painting all the grass so don't be fooled... you will be hitting off of less than average turf. The greens; however, are in fantastic condition. They roll very true and are very fast. The course is difficult because the greens on nearly every hole are massively elevated meaning if you miss by a few yards you'll roll 20 to 30 yards off the green. It was worth the $11 rate I got, but not much more.
These greens are crazy good!
Did a prepay rate on golfnow for 14 bucks. The greens alone for this rate is absurd. Got to be some of the best greens anywhere in the area. The rest of the conditions are pretty average but not too bad at all. 4 bucks for a small bucket of range balls (a BIG small bucket) was very good too. I would definitely recommend this course for the rates they have on here.
Greens in great shape...Fast
Had a 11:07 tee time. Arrived 15-20 late. Man behind counter acted like I committed a crime, as if it was the WEEKEND, not a Monday tee time. Caught up and played with a twosome . They said this same man would not allowed them to tee off before their scheduled time, even though they witness no one teeing off for another 15+mins.
Fast track; maybe too fast?
Staff was great. Overall, the course is in very good shape, but several holes, IMO, are borderline unfair. Majority of greens are severely elevated w/no collars and mounds are shaved/rolled down to bare ground. Chips ran through and off greens. One short downhill putt rolled 20 yds off. Very challenging course probably fun for the scratch golfer, but if your short game is average or below, be prepared for lots of frustration.
One of Dallas' best secrets
A short drive South of downtown Dallas will give you an experience difficult to find in North Texas. The fairways at Country View are nicer than those of Dallas' most exclusive country clubs. Actually, they are better than the greens of most Dallas golf courses. The greens are well maintained though just getting re-establish after the winter seasons.
Country View offers a challenge no matter what level your skills are. Many greens are elevated,; missing them will penalize you.
Very much recommend this hidden star.
Good course for the price.
Fairways nice and wide but greens are small. Lots of water around and in between the majority of holes. Don't have any bunkers to worry about.
ive played this course many times
And I must say its in the best condition that I can remember...grass is a lil brown because of the time of year(as are the other courses) but it didn't effect the play..greens held well and putting is lightning fast so be careful..was crowded due to all of the twosomes but not too bad..
Overall had a good time..
Great day of golf!
The course was in good shape for being dormant and the greens were great! They rolled true, held good shots, and were fast. We got a free lunch with our round and the burger was excellent! We called it in on the 8th hole and it was ready to go when we made the turn. There are some easy holes and there are some tight, difficult holes. Only thing I would complain about would be pace of play but what do you expect at a public course?!
GREAT BURGER THAT WAS A BONUS
Short track, but very tight in some places. Greens roll true, and you think its easy at first glance, but the greens take a few holes to get pace on. For the price thought the meal would be a rolled over hotdog, but ended up being a restaurant quality burger that was worth half my green fee itself. Overall good experience should have expected delays being holiday weekend, but will definitely return.
Dont underestimate your approach towards the flag..
This course was played in the fall.
Not like playing it in the spring or summer. Most of the greens where elevated, so use a longer club than normal for your approach .Greens where very fast ,true.Back nine holes were wet. Holes 17,11, and 4 were a challenge for me. Well remember hit 1 club more on your approach. Take those Putts slow.
Nice course - good value - serene setting
Nice course in good shape. Greens were super fast and undulating which created quite a challenge. Only complaint was that marshals were infrequently seen and useless.
Great course for the money.
Booked online with GolfNow.com. 9:45 tee time on a Thursday, never waited on anyone and only had someone ( a single) on our heels at the end of our round. This course is NOT easy. I can see beginner golfers having a rough day here. Bring your short game because the elevated greens require it. Anxious to play again and beat my score. Good burger too!
