About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Course Wet
Course was wet due to rain the previous day & front nine was closed due to sanding of greens. We played back nine twice for the 18. These conditions added to this challenging course. Our foursome played the course & still had a good time. I should have called the Pro Shop for course condition before leaving the house. But then, we would have missed out of the fun we had.

Great staff (Jeff's the best - Wed thru Sun). A challenging course in very good condition. Always a fun round here, especially if you enjoy elevation changes and nice vistas.

Crystal Falls is a work in progress. The layout is fair and the vistas are nice!!! The greens are improving greatly. Nice job by the ground crew. Go play it!!!

Spectacular!
The course very scenic and the fairways were in prime condition. Greens were in good shape for summer with one on the back 9 under repair. Not at all crowded by surrounding homes.
Knowing this course well can have a huge impact. If you are wide, the terrain can offer a big helping hand or a complete bust.

Greens are in bad, bad shape! Fairways actually in good shape
Putting was not possible. Greens are in bad, bad shape. Several damaged areas on multiple greens and if not fully damaged, the green had bad gaps. I love the course and will play it again and again. I hope the greens recover and soon.

It's ok.
Crystal Falls is a beautiful layout with incredible views and sounds of nature. The course layout is fair but for hole#9. That thing should be erased from the course :-)
Most of the greens are in terrible shape. Not sure if that is the result of the Feb freeze or poor management.
I would play the course again because it's beautiful and 8 min from my house.

Shameful greens
All tee boxes where excellent and most of the fairways were excellent as well but the greens where not. Almost every single green had brown spots where there was no grass or brown dyeing grass. Great course just went downhill. Many of my putts yesterday where a rollercoster ride with all the uneven greens due to those brown spots.

Hot deal for $28 plus tax and fees is a bargain
I enjoy playing Crystal Falls and will keep it in my rotation of courses to visit. There are some greens that are in pretty rough shape, but the course is in really good condition otherwise (thus 4 stars on conditions rather than 5). The person I usually see in the clubhouse is really nice and helpful; today's person could take a few lessons. I don't need to have a red carpet rolled out, but grumpiness is a bummer. The young woman working the beverage cart was very pleasant; she'll make more if she slows down a bit and checks to see if anyone is thirsty!

Crystal Falls 6-20-2021
Tee to green conditions were good, greens appeared very stressed and haven't recovered from the winter. Made for a challenging day putting. Hopefully they will improve with the warmer weather.
