About
Built along Lake Travis in 1971, Point Venture was the first course in Leander, but has been overshadowed since the opening of Crystal Falls. The course has 9 holes that meander through a residential development and is loaded with dogleg holes and mature trees.
Jimmy Demaret designed the course, and his layout features two nasty par 5s. The best hole on the course is No. 7–a scenic hole that starts from an elevated tee box and plays downhill to a green surrounded by a lake.
Getting there : From I-35, exit FM 1431 and drive west approximately 25 miles to Lago Vista. Turn left on Lohman Ford Rd. and drive 8 miles to the Point Venture guard gate.

Hidden Gem!
This course Is great for beginners! If you want a course that is challenging, yet easy to navigate this is the course for you! The staff are super friendly! Highly recommend! Will definitely go back!
Point Venture
Very nice little course, well maintained and close to our home on Lake Travis. Enjoyed the peaceful, secluded feeling and staff are very accommodating.

This is a course I continue to go back to. Great for a beginner or novice golfer. Won't offer an advanced golfer much challenge but that's fine with me. Even in this crazy heat this summer they've managed to keep the greens in pretty good shape. Makes me want to move out there!
Point Venture Fun
I did not know what to expect as we traveled out to Lagp Vista but I was pleasantly surprised. The clubhouse is great and the staff very friendly. Nice driving range and the course was in good shape especially with the heat so far this summer it is a long drive out to the course but I recommend it.
Resort course
Did not know until checking in that it was a 9 hole course? Also unaware a tournament was going on so really slowed up pace of play first 6 holes. Course layout was really nice and greens very tough to read but rolled true. Target golf but still enjoyable other than fact no sand traps or water on the course. Good resort course but for first and only time I would play it. Friendly staff.
Greens were ridiculous
Too many people trying to play 18 holes on a 9 hole course.
Fine Course - Worst Starter
There is always a stereotype that Marshalls/Starters are crotchety old men, but this course has the oldest and crotchetiest starter I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Not the best way to start your round
