Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Windy
The course is in pretty good shape, other than some of the tea boxes, which needed some sod. It was a windy day and a lot of the holes are in the crosswind when the wind is out of the south on this course.
Greens sucked
Greens had been punched in last 2 weeks or so but hadn't been rolled so impossible to putt on due to being so uneven and bumpy. Maintenance issue which could have been addressed much earlier.
Save your money!
Played this on Friday, yesterday. It was just in terrible condition all over, greens were punched recently, which is understandable but there is so much fuzz on the green the ball won’t roll straight even if the greens weren’t punched. I don’t think there is a course maintenance crew. Pace of play was awful, and it definitely isn’t worth the $30 a round. Maybe if total price was $20 (cart included) it would make more sense. Spend a little more money and play somewhere else so you won’t be miserable for 18 holes.
Great condition
This course seems to always be in great condition and you can score well, I've played in alot of places that cost almost twice as much and the course is nowhere close to the condition of lake park, don't miss out on your chance to play there, you will like it
Great value
This is the best shape I’ve ever seen the course in!
It's decent for a Hack
It's alright. Course to the green is in pretty good shape as it should be this time of year and it's an easy open course. The greens are mediocre to trash in most spots like you might expect out of a municipal (I won't give them credit for the freeze because other courses in the area have found a way to recover they've always been kind of meh on greens). Food is pretty good. Staff I've found at the Regulation course are kinda jerks. Dude at the 9 hole is pleasant. Like I said it's a good place for a hack when you want a cheap day just be aware they don't include cart and will charge you $12 for that when you get to the course per player not per cart (lame).
Good even with rain delay
The course played well after a heavy rain early in the morning. They were a little backed up but up but staff worked very hard to get everyone out and it was very much appreciated! The beverage cart showed up several times and she was very nice. The course was in good shape even with many of the men's tees under repair. Had a great time and will definitely be back!! BIG shourout to the staff for handling a full course and several unpleasant customers.
Need Marshals
Played two weeks in a row and both weeks the pace of play was really slow. Lake Park needs marshals to help keep play moving. I was behind two 4-somes and both slow. The starter had us going on time but by the 3 hole there was an empty fairway in front of them. By the 9th there was 3 empty fairways. By 14 it was empty to 18. Please get marshals on the course to hurry up play. Other courses do it, why not Lake park?
Where is the course Marshall???
Played in beautiful weather with the some Very slow weekend golfers. I get it, people want to play and if they suck at golf they slow down ALL the players on the course and all players good and lame suffer. So get a few Marshall’s working the course on the weekends. Good gawd, you’re charging over 50 bucks for a fees plus cart plus tax for many terrible tee boxes with no grass and no sand to fill divots on.these terrible tee boxes. One cart girl, saw once on back nine. Interesting undulating greens but many areas where there was just dirt between the cart paths and the too close to the cart path greens. Here is a TIP for all golfers that drive carts - DO NOT PARK THE CART OFF OF THE CART PATHS AROUND THE GREENS - IT KILLS THE GRASS. Hmmm maybe a Marshall would help. Nah Lake Park doesn’t use Marshalls. Overpriced course for the low quality. Will not play again.
Enjoyable course need to group people up better too many singles and doubles playing by themselves. Causes very slow play at times.
Windy day, Still fun
Yes, when the wind is blowing on this course it can certainly be challenging. Nonetheless it was in great shape and a whole lot of fun. Wide open, fairways and greens in great shape. Started at 11AM on a Saturday was finished up by 2:45PM so nice pace of play.
I play with a push cart and love that this course is relatively flat and tees are close to greens. Probably me and y boys new home course as it’s a perfect distance from all around DFW to meet up.
