Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

GREENS ARE TRICKY FAIRWAYS GOOD
THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE COURSE WAS GOOD. THE GREENS WERE RECENTLY WORKED ON
THERE WAS ALOT OF REPAIRS AND SAND ON THEM.
THE GREENS WERE A LITTLE FAST BUT OK. THE FAIRWAYS WERE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AS WELL AS THE RUFF WHAT THERE WAS OF RUFF THEY COULD USE A LITTLE MORE RUFF.
Needs work
The course needs work, Looks like they do not cut the greens often, bumpy, holes on them. Too many players allowed to play slow, never saw a marshal. I will not go back.
Great course for the money
Very open course and easy on your score. Fairways were extremely nice and greens were also fairly well kept. Would play again.
Beautiful and enjoyed round of this course and thanks by wife
Welcomed by Pro shop staff.
Enjoy my rounds with wife.
Best price of green fees.
Nice Course
Nice public course. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Good value.
An easy track that's slipped a bit in quality
Lake Park is Lake Park. It's a flat open course that's fairly easy. It's a great course for kids, beginners as well as a golfer working on their swing or looking to post a really good number.
Up until about a year ago, the course conditions were always good. It wasn't the fanciest track - but the fairways and greens were in good shape. The greens used to be smooth/true...especially for a less expensive track.
But most of the greens are in poor shape. It looks like there is some sort of disease or fungus that has led to large parts of the green being dead and other parts overgrown. It makes it nearly impossible to putt consistently.
Hopefully they will get it figured out and fix soon.
My home course
This is my home course. So needless to say i love playimg here. But to be honest the course, especially the grreens, have gone way down the last couple years.
The course itself is the best for noobs. Hard to lose a ball. I was awful last weekend sparying it all over. Didnt lose a single ball. The fairways and tee boxes where in really good shape. Why does the course put the white tee boxes on 5 right behind the tree branches? Move the box to the left (because thats where my group played from anyway) or cut the branches, please. I cant shape a shot that good.
The only negative i have beisde #5 tee box placement behind a tree is the greens. The 9 hole greens are so pretty. But the 18 greens are in such disarray. Not just the ones by the lake but all over. The front of 3 is almost like a small bunker. The greens still roll pretty good. I dont remember any putt being knocked off line because the green was bad.
I recommend it to play. You will like it. You can go driver on every hole if you wish. And wont suffer to much except if you go right on 8. You shouldnt lose a ball here. I have and am mad everytime. The course is so wide open with only a small handfull of hazards. And no hazards are really in your way.
Flat easy course
The course is in fair condition. Some of the greens need some work. The drainage is pretty good after the recent storms. Overall it is a pleasant round.
It's cheap
If it wasn't so cheap this place would be absolutely awful. The staff is incredibly rude. They ran out of carts. Greens were so brown thought I was in the desert. It took me by my self 3.5 hours to finish 10 holes. Bottom line STAY AWAY.
Ok if you just wanna get some holes in.
Course lax maintenance, crabgrass and ant piles everywhere including on the greens. Could be a better course if maintenance is better. But if you only want to get a late round in at nine holes it's OK to play.
Great course for less accurate players
Course is simple and straight forward. Very open with minimal hazards. Plenty of room for error if you battle that slice or hook. It's not the nicest course in the area but very fair for the price. Nice proshop, and laid back staff. Well worth the value.
This course is absolutely wonderful.
This is my favorite course it has two separate greens one 9 hole the other 18 both very scenic and well maintained. Staff is excellent very friendly and helpful.
We'll be back.
My son and I played Sunday and he shot the best round he has ever shot, 86. He only plays a dozen times a year or so and has only playing for 3 years.
I'm a senior citizen and am disabled so my scoring is based on the fun I have! LOL.
The course was a typical Texas winter course condition but it was in good condition. I have seen many winter courses that were in very poor condition and it seemed greens were not of any importance until spring came around.
Putting on a green with lots of weed bumps is no fun.
I'll be back as will my son. It was fun.
Beer is kinda high, but it's expected at these types of places so no complaint here but we'll drink at home after we play next time.
Overall a good rating. We hope to raise that to even better of a rating when spring gets here and we see how well they manage the course at that time.
Till then we'll be playing it, I hope once a month or so and I would certainly recommend it to friends.

not a bad course for the money
I played Lakepark as a single but eventually became part of a 4-some. Conditions were decent for being so early in the season. Fairways were not grown in yet so a little tight but they were fine. Greens were in good shape and fairly quick. There aren't many traps at Lakepark so it does not matter much, but they were in poor condition.
My only complaint for the day is that there was a 4-some 2 holes ahead of us that was SO SLOW there were more than 2 holes open between them and the next group. I have had that problem the last few times I've been at Lakepark whether it is weekday (like this time) or weekend. You get a slow 4some and it backs up the entire course. I don't think L-P uses marshalls so there is very little recourse. I'll continue to play the course but just remain aware you could get stuck behind some really slow golfers.
Lake Park 18
2nd time playing... Nice course, shorter than usual but nice... Paired up with a good guy, definitely plan on coming back... Pace of play was reeeaaaal sloooooow... At one point had 7 people on 1 green... Then a single behind them, then US a twosome then a threesome that we conversed with on several occassion...(smiles)
Great value course
Played Lake Park a number of times. It's a fun course. It's pretty open so you can bombs away, however it does have some challenging holes. The greens are little rough during the winter but playable. The staff is great which makes it an enjoyable day.
Not quite up to par
Maybe the course just hasn't fully recovered from the crazy spring floods? I'm just guessing, but the fairways are mostly dormant/dry/dead, and not at all lush like I used to see on this course. This time of the year you would typically expect really good turf conditions. The greens were hard and fast, but also very patchy especially on the back 9. You get what you pay for sometimes, so at least I only spent $22 on this round.
Great speed of play on a nice Summer Afternoon.
Very nice round with a quick pace. Played Early afternoon and had no one holding me up or hitting into me.
Great course, longer than I expected
Greens in wonderful shape but starting to play fairly fast. Nice layout, wonderful value. Will play again and recommend to others
Good condition
This course was in good condition I've played it many times and the greens were not in very good shape there was only one green that really had issues the rest of the course was in very good condition and very enjoyable around
