Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Great Bargain
Excellent place to warm up your game without paying a hefty price.
Good links style
Back here after ten years. Can be challenging or easy. Tee shots and wedge play make the difference.
Upside review
I'm going to post a positive review. This course is easy for new players. Playing the black tees adds some challenge for distance. Greens need some TLC. A couple greens suffered flooding damage a while back and are recovering. If you are someone new to the game this is a great course to practice on and try different clubs. The water is present but easily avoidable and sand traps are minimal. Also a great place to learn to play in the wind. Enjoy.
One step above a par 3
The clientele coupled with the course made this an underwhelming experience. Their was no etiquette on the course. People were hitting the ball all over the place and not yelling fore. The group behind us hit up on us consistently making the experience dangerous. When asked to hold off on hitting up on our group we were confronted with physical threat. If you want to play a short, poorly taken care of course, with scummy hackers, this is the place for you.
A Little Lake Park Action
Greens in great shape. The course is short, flat, and every hole is straight. Perfect for beginners and experts that want to go low. Most importantly, we had fun!
Slow Play
I can't understand why people don't offer to let faster groups play through? We had to skip a hole to be able to finish within 4 hours with 3 holes not played. Nice course, needs a marshal.
Practice Course
Good course to work on some fundamentals of yout game.
This course is friendly
This is a very friendly course for the average golfer. The wide open space allows for slices and hooks.
Give it a shot
Nice track, wide open. Very few hazards & bunkers. Great staff. One of the best courses to learn on so pace of play can be incredibly slow on the weekend. Better players & longer hitters should play back to get your money's worth & stretch the course a bit. Have fun & keep up with the group ahead.
Wet and soggy
The greens are bad and need help. Maintence on the course is non-existent. Not worth any price to play this course.
GREENS ARE TRICKY FAIRWAYS GOOD
THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE COURSE WAS GOOD. THE GREENS WERE RECENTLY WORKED ON
THERE WAS ALOT OF REPAIRS AND SAND ON THEM.
THE GREENS WERE A LITTLE FAST BUT OK. THE FAIRWAYS WERE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AS WELL AS THE RUFF WHAT THERE WAS OF RUFF THEY COULD USE A LITTLE MORE RUFF.
Needs work
The course needs work, Looks like they do not cut the greens often, bumpy, holes on them. Too many players allowed to play slow, never saw a marshal. I will not go back.
Great course for the money
Very open course and easy on your score. Fairways were extremely nice and greens were also fairly well kept. Would play again.
Beautiful and enjoyed round of this course and thanks by wife
Welcomed by Pro shop staff.
Enjoy my rounds with wife.
Best price of green fees.
Nice Course
Nice public course. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Good value.
An easy track that's slipped a bit in quality
Lake Park is Lake Park. It's a flat open course that's fairly easy. It's a great course for kids, beginners as well as a golfer working on their swing or looking to post a really good number.
Up until about a year ago, the course conditions were always good. It wasn't the fanciest track - but the fairways and greens were in good shape. The greens used to be smooth/true...especially for a less expensive track.
But most of the greens are in poor shape. It looks like there is some sort of disease or fungus that has led to large parts of the green being dead and other parts overgrown. It makes it nearly impossible to putt consistently.
Hopefully they will get it figured out and fix soon.
My home course
This is my home course. So needless to say i love playimg here. But to be honest the course, especially the grreens, have gone way down the last couple years.
The course itself is the best for noobs. Hard to lose a ball. I was awful last weekend sparying it all over. Didnt lose a single ball. The fairways and tee boxes where in really good shape. Why does the course put the white tee boxes on 5 right behind the tree branches? Move the box to the left (because thats where my group played from anyway) or cut the branches, please. I cant shape a shot that good.
The only negative i have beisde #5 tee box placement behind a tree is the greens. The 9 hole greens are so pretty. But the 18 greens are in such disarray. Not just the ones by the lake but all over. The front of 3 is almost like a small bunker. The greens still roll pretty good. I dont remember any putt being knocked off line because the green was bad.
I recommend it to play. You will like it. You can go driver on every hole if you wish. And wont suffer to much except if you go right on 8. You shouldnt lose a ball here. I have and am mad everytime. The course is so wide open with only a small handfull of hazards. And no hazards are really in your way.
Flat easy course
The course is in fair condition. Some of the greens need some work. The drainage is pretty good after the recent storms. Overall it is a pleasant round.
It's cheap
If it wasn't so cheap this place would be absolutely awful. The staff is incredibly rude. They ran out of carts. Greens were so brown thought I was in the desert. It took me by my self 3.5 hours to finish 10 holes. Bottom line STAY AWAY.
