Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Great value
I have played this course for 25 yrs , it's a fun, mostly wide open course
Fun course for the price
Teed off @ 10am on a very windy Tuesday. Wind made course more challenging but not unplayable. Went as a single, but paired with 2 much older gentlemen... Slight disappointment in that I enjoy playing solo at times, but not a deal breaker as pace of play was fine... Greens are a bit bumpy and patchy in some spots, but overall not in bad condition at all. I always enjoy playing here for the price, but I wouldn't consider this the nicest course in the area... I will play here again in the future.
So much potential but falls short
For such a picturesque setting by lake Lewisville it would appear an ideal golf setting. Wide open fairways lead you on to a disappointing green. The greens are poorly kept and are full of divots and dimples. The grass on the greens are in extremely rough shape and are impossible to get a good line. The drinks out of the clubhouse are way over priced ($4) a beer for such a poorly maintained course, not to mention if you order a 6 pack to take on the course its in a plastic bag of ice that melts before you finish the first hole. No marshals to pace play. One would be better off playing the 9 hole course across the street.
Easy course great location
Pace of play was a little slow and greens weren't in the best of shape, but the price was excellent for a Sunday afternoon of golf.
Fun course
Fun course to play. Open and straight layout with a few trouble areas in play. Great course to work on your game. Always worth the drive. Average golfer would love Lake Park.
Great Value
We played on a windy day but both scored well. This is a forgiving course. Very few sand traps and just a few water hazards. It is almost too easy. Only a few holes have much penalty for hitting errant shots. Often you can just play from the wrong fairway. That being said, the course was in great early summer shape. The fairways are green and well maintained. Most of the greens are in good shape although I wish they were just a little more consistent. There was a mix of grass types on some of the greens making some a little slower than others and kind of hard to read. We play this course often. My father-in-law is 83 years old and prefers an easier course where he doesn't loose as many balls.
Good value
Flat and simple course, but well maintained. Lots of room for errant shots.
Great value for your money
I enjoyed the open style course with few hazards.
A drivers heaven because if you miss the fairway you just end up on a fairway next over and are still in play to reach the greens with your second shots so you can let loose off the tee.
It is very open so wind played a big factor especially on the par 3s.
Will be back to play it again real soon with my friends.
Beginner course
The fairways and rough and tee boxes were nice, the greens were fast and really inconsistent. Very patchy and wouldn't hold an iron over an 8. Making putts was tough because the speed was never the same from one green to another. But overall a decent course
Fairly easy course, good practice one.
Once noted for excellent greens, they have deteriorated a lot recently. Don't seem to have a lot of needed attention as required.
Great course
I love this course, it is not full of hazards. I can play a hole round without losing a single ball. If your game is shaky you will love the ease of play. For the money one of the best courses I know of.
Wide open
Pace of play was slow they allowed a group of 6 in front of us and held up the pace od play. Greens had some weeds on them that made it hard to predict your puts. But for the price was a fun day of golf. Will go back again but not a have to be back again
great value. . .speedy greens
wide open layout with continuous sweeping lake views, albeit lake lewisville. greens are fast and roll well. at $39 riding on saturday at 8am make this a great value. a good track to put in your rotation. . . enJoy.
Love this course for beginners
Been playing Lakepark for two summers now and this is the only course I've been able to consistently shoot under 100. (From white's)
Really recommend the layout of this course for beginners. Fairways have a ton of room and the hazards can easily be taken out of play from each hole to the next. Not many sand traps. Typically the greens roll very nice and pin locations are sometimes challenging.
Not much to complain about unless you are looking for a clubhouse to meet friends or a cart that is electrical powered.
Weekends get VERY crowded when the weather is nice, but typically this course can be played fast on weekdays or weekends when the weather is above 80 or below 55.
Twilight pricing is awesome and if you fly solo you can typically get in 12-15 holes when the day is right.
Nice Muni
Not a lot of play the day I was there. Played in just over 3 hours. Greens excellent!
Easy course, good greens
Course was a little wet, better as it dried out. Pace of play pretty good, easy parking and access to highway
Windswept link style course on the south shore of Lake Lewisville
Softened greens after recent rains made it easy to fire at the pins. Really soft course conditions made for cart path only rule day played. Good value, good condition after hot summer.
Very fun course!
This course is a lot of fun! The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the cart girls are out there having a good time with players. Obviously golf is always better if you can hit them straight but here it's almost necessary because nearly all of the holes run next to each other. There arent many trees to stop an errant shot. Still the course was in good condition with everything green and playing average speed. Tee boxes were a little long but that would be only complaint. I would recommend you a round here anytime.
Great Driving Course and Great Greens
Fun course to play if you like to hit driver off the tee. Except for a couple of par fours the course isn't short if you play off the blue tees. The greens are firm, not soft, so you won't get many to back up or make a big ball mark. The greens are very smooth, consistent, and putt as true as any public course in the Dallas Area. If you're a good putter you should drain some long putts.
