Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Wide open
Pace of play was slow they allowed a group of 6 in front of us and held up the pace od play. Greens had some weeds on them that made it hard to predict your puts. But for the price was a fun day of golf. Will go back again but not a have to be back again
great value. . .speedy greens
wide open layout with continuous sweeping lake views, albeit lake lewisville. greens are fast and roll well. at $39 riding on saturday at 8am make this a great value. a good track to put in your rotation. . . enJoy.
Love this course for beginners
Been playing Lakepark for two summers now and this is the only course I've been able to consistently shoot under 100. (From white's)
Really recommend the layout of this course for beginners. Fairways have a ton of room and the hazards can easily be taken out of play from each hole to the next. Not many sand traps. Typically the greens roll very nice and pin locations are sometimes challenging.
Not much to complain about unless you are looking for a clubhouse to meet friends or a cart that is electrical powered.
Weekends get VERY crowded when the weather is nice, but typically this course can be played fast on weekdays or weekends when the weather is above 80 or below 55.
Twilight pricing is awesome and if you fly solo you can typically get in 12-15 holes when the day is right.
Nice Muni
Not a lot of play the day I was there. Played in just over 3 hours. Greens excellent!
Easy course, good greens
Course was a little wet, better as it dried out. Pace of play pretty good, easy parking and access to highway
Windswept link style course on the south shore of Lake Lewisville
Softened greens after recent rains made it easy to fire at the pins. Really soft course conditions made for cart path only rule day played. Good value, good condition after hot summer.
Very fun course!
This course is a lot of fun! The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the cart girls are out there having a good time with players. Obviously golf is always better if you can hit them straight but here it's almost necessary because nearly all of the holes run next to each other. There arent many trees to stop an errant shot. Still the course was in good condition with everything green and playing average speed. Tee boxes were a little long but that would be only complaint. I would recommend you a round here anytime.
Great Driving Course and Great Greens
Fun course to play if you like to hit driver off the tee. Except for a couple of par fours the course isn't short if you play off the blue tees. The greens are firm, not soft, so you won't get many to back up or make a big ball mark. The greens are very smooth, consistent, and putt as true as any public course in the Dallas Area. If you're a good putter you should drain some long putts.
Excellent Course
Perfect greens, good design, gps great and first 9 holes was awesome. I come back for sure.
Fairly open course. Nice relaxing play.
Lake Park is fairly open compared to other courses. There's a few places where the fairways can get a bit close to each other. But don't take that to mean that the course isn't a good time. Greens were consistent. Overall enjoyable round.
Always a good time!
Played a Father=Son match with my Son's schoolmate and his Dad.
We had a great time! The course is in great shape as it is every time I've been there. And I must admit I expected slow play for a Sunday afternoon but was very pleased when a walking foursome let us play through at #2 and it was like we had the course to ourselves the rest of the day! Only criticism is they charged me $2.10 for leaving without closing out my credit card. I called immediately and told them I'd be back to pick it up on Tuesday they said fine. When I questioned them Tuesday about the extra fee they said all courses do it? (p.s. I tipped the concession person with cash when I made my only purchase that day, she held my CC saying they'd run a tab)
Great Course for the Money
This course is relatively easy. The fairways and greens were in great shape for August. It is great course for beginners and good players that do not play much golf. It can be a little dangerous because you can hit into other fairways and still play your hole.
Great course for the money
Can't beat the price, course was beautiful and greens were good but a little sandy on a few
Great bang for the buck.
Can't beat it for the price, carts have GPS, and good snack bar and driving range.
Average course.
The Texas Summer temps. (7-23-13) were not the only problem. Play was very slow because the foursome in front of us had a beginning golfer who was being given on-course lessons by his companions. There are no marshals on this course to help.
Course in good condition despite rain early in the week.
I have played this course several times in the past and have always had a good experience. Thursday was no exception even though we had a number of rainy days earlier in the week. The greens were a little slow but overall the course played just fine with very little standing water. The only issue we had was a fellow driving a small tractor towing a very noisy fan blower within feet of us while we were teeing off. He came up suddenly and was oblivious to my mid swing. Since I have experienced this same situation on other courses I have come to expect maintenance worker noise and close proximity. Other then this one incident I had a very good round and will be playing again next week.
This is one course I can play without loosing a ball since there are no real woods or drop-offs to hide your ball after an errant shot.
Finished in less than 3 1/2 hours
Very enjoyable place to play. Player seem to be aware that slow play can take the fun out of the game. No slow play on my round of golf. Course is pretty straight and open. You can get into trouble on some holes if you miss the fairway on your drive.
unusual maintainance
They were fertilizing a green and watering it in at 11:30 in the morning during our round. The greens were a little rough.
Great Course
The course itself is pretty easy. Mostly straight lines, very little water, wide open (if you miss your drive worst case scenario is you're on the next fairway). For novices like me this is a wonderful course to practice on. Be prepared to get backed up however. Every time I've played here I've inevitably been stuck behind slow play and there are no marshals to enforce. If you don't mind that then it's a great course for a decent price.
