Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Wide Open Spaces
A little slow, but it was labor day. No Marshalls on the course so you have to be patient. This is a municipal course that caters to their city. Jean shorts and flip flops are allowed, or at least they were on Labor Day. Course made a great recovery, still have one green to go and some patching still needs to grow in.
I will play here again. It's a great bargain and a great place to play for beginners.
So sad..
Played the track many times in the past always a good place to tune up your game. Not so much now... cart paths were flooded with water... fairway was burnt up... greens under repair no signs...carts driving up to greens and across fairways. ...and no starter... water coolers empty... so sad for a local course that could help guys just starting to play.
Watch out for slow pokes and empty/missing water coolers
No Marshal on the course. Slow poke threesome in front of us backed up us and the two groups behind us for two hours. They finally let us play through on 14, with one guy in the slow group insisting on hitting his 50 yard tee shots from the tips. Most of the water coolers on the course were empty or missing. The course was in great shape, we got to see a lot of it while waiting on the threesome in front of us.
Really Enjoy this course
My wife and I enjoy this course!
It is open, we lose very few balls and it is most always in really good condition (not to mention it is on the lake with a nice breeze even in the hottest parts of the summer)!
Needs some work.
I've been to this course before a few times and it's a pretty decent wide open and fairly easy play. It's seen better days. This year (2015) has seen some serious rain. The lake flooded over this course and damaged quite a bit of the fairways and greens. On two "greens" they use oversized holes to putt into on fairway grass because the greens are ruined. Lots of tire marks from carts, standing water in some fairways. Don't expect your ball to get a lot of bounce or extra distance down a fairway. Greens need a lot of work: very difficult to putt. Their water is warm, bring your own. Playing form the tips Still makes for short holes. Mostly straight. I think if they improve the course and upgrade it's a great deal and pretty fun!
Really good for a Muni course
Really good track for a Muni Course.... some of the greens are rough but overall ...... Good Track. Great Value for the $$ !
Fun Course
I have played here 3 times. Great course for a beginner like me. Greens are somewhat rough due to abuse by players. All in all I love this course.
Golf course is fun
Good course to practice on enjoy playing when I can, but the greens could be better
good course to breask in the golf season
good course for being early spring. old cup placements did tend to throw off a put due to their closeness. speed of play was good, even with a foursome ahead of us.
Golf buddies
A lot of the fairways were too close to a Teebox and sometimes a little dangerous. Condition of course was okay.
Worth a Trip
Played course in cool , dormant conditions . A nice layout with some very good holes .. Staff friendly and helpful . Good value . With little water , bunkers , and no forced carries it is a good course for women and beginners . Prety flat making it an easy walk . Needs a marshal to monitor slower groups .
I'll bet mosquitos are a problem during warmer months . Touches lake on east and up against dam on south .
Good winter golf
We enjoyed the course, although course grass was brown for the winter the conditions were good, all the staff were more than friendly and helpful!! We would play here again!
you get what you pay for
The biggest problem with This course is the course layout. All of the holes are stacked next to each other with no natural barriers. It's a nightmare trying to find your ball on a busy day because even when you hit it in the middle of the fairway you might find 10 other balls from the holes next to yours. Which leads to the next problem, you wait for the group in front of you, then just when you can finally tee off, you end up waiting for someone on the a hole over to hit a shot that landed in your fairway back on to their hole.
Good Value
Good Price, greens could use some care. Staff is very helpful. Wish the would they could enforce Dress Code. Sweatpants and Tee shirt is not appropriate attire for any golf course
Better than expected
I hadn't played this course in 15 years and didn't expect it to be in as good condition as it was. Extremely windy day and the course is wide open so it was interesting. I was very surprised at how good the greens were...although they were very fast..like putting on a table top. Overall it's a fun place to play, albeit not much of a challenge for 14 handicaps.
great course, kept up well
nice course, very clean. all holes were straight, but there were trees and sand traps and water on a couple. if you sliced or hooked a shot, you could easily find your ball...very forgiving course.
Great service
Fun track, great staff, always friendly and accommodating.
Good municipal course
This is a mostly wide open course off the tee -- not many sand traps or water hazards. Many parallel holes - no really memorable holes. Course was in good shape -- greens will hold shots and putted well. Very slow pace of play -- golfers on every hole even on a Monday early afternoon. I played as a single and ended up skipping around to avoid constantly waiting to play. But overall an enjoyable golf experience.
This course buils your ego
This is not a difficult course. there few hazards or bunkers. It's in good condition considering the drought although the greens were rough and bumpy
Sunday Golf
Course was in good shape considering the kind of weather we've had. Staff in Pro Shop could have been a little more considerate when no one was coming in and we had to wait 30 minutes before he would let us Tee Off.
