Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

We'll be back.
My son and I played Sunday and he shot the best round he has ever shot, 86. He only plays a dozen times a year or so and has only playing for 3 years.
I'm a senior citizen and am disabled so my scoring is based on the fun I have! LOL.
The course was a typical Texas winter course condition but it was in good condition. I have seen many winter courses that were in very poor condition and it seemed greens were not of any importance until spring came around.
Putting on a green with lots of weed bumps is no fun.
I'll be back as will my son. It was fun.
Beer is kinda high, but it's expected at these types of places so no complaint here but we'll drink at home after we play next time.
Overall a good rating. We hope to raise that to even better of a rating when spring gets here and we see how well they manage the course at that time.
Till then we'll be playing it, I hope once a month or so and I would certainly recommend it to friends.

not a bad course for the money
I played Lakepark as a single but eventually became part of a 4-some. Conditions were decent for being so early in the season. Fairways were not grown in yet so a little tight but they were fine. Greens were in good shape and fairly quick. There aren't many traps at Lakepark so it does not matter much, but they were in poor condition.
My only complaint for the day is that there was a 4-some 2 holes ahead of us that was SO SLOW there were more than 2 holes open between them and the next group. I have had that problem the last few times I've been at Lakepark whether it is weekday (like this time) or weekend. You get a slow 4some and it backs up the entire course. I don't think L-P uses marshalls so there is very little recourse. I'll continue to play the course but just remain aware you could get stuck behind some really slow golfers.
Lake Park 18
2nd time playing... Nice course, shorter than usual but nice... Paired up with a good guy, definitely plan on coming back... Pace of play was reeeaaaal sloooooow... At one point had 7 people on 1 green... Then a single behind them, then US a twosome then a threesome that we conversed with on several occassion...(smiles)
Great value course
Played Lake Park a number of times. It's a fun course. It's pretty open so you can bombs away, however it does have some challenging holes. The greens are little rough during the winter but playable. The staff is great which makes it an enjoyable day.
Not quite up to par
Maybe the course just hasn't fully recovered from the crazy spring floods? I'm just guessing, but the fairways are mostly dormant/dry/dead, and not at all lush like I used to see on this course. This time of the year you would typically expect really good turf conditions. The greens were hard and fast, but also very patchy especially on the back 9. You get what you pay for sometimes, so at least I only spent $22 on this round.
Great speed of play on a nice Summer Afternoon.
Very nice round with a quick pace. Played Early afternoon and had no one holding me up or hitting into me.
Great course, longer than I expected
Greens in wonderful shape but starting to play fairly fast. Nice layout, wonderful value. Will play again and recommend to others
Good condition
This course was in good condition I've played it many times and the greens were not in very good shape there was only one green that really had issues the rest of the course was in very good condition and very enjoyable around
Wide Open Spaces
A little slow, but it was labor day. No Marshalls on the course so you have to be patient. This is a municipal course that caters to their city. Jean shorts and flip flops are allowed, or at least they were on Labor Day. Course made a great recovery, still have one green to go and some patching still needs to grow in.
I will play here again. It's a great bargain and a great place to play for beginners.
So sad..
Played the track many times in the past always a good place to tune up your game. Not so much now... cart paths were flooded with water... fairway was burnt up... greens under repair no signs...carts driving up to greens and across fairways. ...and no starter... water coolers empty... so sad for a local course that could help guys just starting to play.
Watch out for slow pokes and empty/missing water coolers
No Marshal on the course. Slow poke threesome in front of us backed up us and the two groups behind us for two hours. They finally let us play through on 14, with one guy in the slow group insisting on hitting his 50 yard tee shots from the tips. Most of the water coolers on the course were empty or missing. The course was in great shape, we got to see a lot of it while waiting on the threesome in front of us.
Really Enjoy this course
My wife and I enjoy this course!
It is open, we lose very few balls and it is most always in really good condition (not to mention it is on the lake with a nice breeze even in the hottest parts of the summer)!
Needs some work.
I've been to this course before a few times and it's a pretty decent wide open and fairly easy play. It's seen better days. This year (2015) has seen some serious rain. The lake flooded over this course and damaged quite a bit of the fairways and greens. On two "greens" they use oversized holes to putt into on fairway grass because the greens are ruined. Lots of tire marks from carts, standing water in some fairways. Don't expect your ball to get a lot of bounce or extra distance down a fairway. Greens need a lot of work: very difficult to putt. Their water is warm, bring your own. Playing form the tips Still makes for short holes. Mostly straight. I think if they improve the course and upgrade it's a great deal and pretty fun!
Really good for a Muni course
Really good track for a Muni Course.... some of the greens are rough but overall ...... Good Track. Great Value for the $$ !
Fun Course
I have played here 3 times. Great course for a beginner like me. Greens are somewhat rough due to abuse by players. All in all I love this course.
Golf course is fun
Good course to practice on enjoy playing when I can, but the greens could be better
good course to breask in the golf season
good course for being early spring. old cup placements did tend to throw off a put due to their closeness. speed of play was good, even with a foursome ahead of us.
Golf buddies
A lot of the fairways were too close to a Teebox and sometimes a little dangerous. Condition of course was okay.
Worth a Trip
Played course in cool , dormant conditions . A nice layout with some very good holes .. Staff friendly and helpful . Good value . With little water , bunkers , and no forced carries it is a good course for women and beginners . Prety flat making it an easy walk . Needs a marshal to monitor slower groups .
I'll bet mosquitos are a problem during warmer months . Touches lake on east and up against dam on south .
Good winter golf
We enjoyed the course, although course grass was brown for the winter the conditions were good, all the staff were more than friendly and helpful!! We would play here again!
