Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

A wide open course, good for novice players.
This course is wide open and popular with seniors and beginners. Low handicap players will not find any challenge here. The staff is friendly and the costs are reasonable.
Tee to Green above average, Greens need some work
Although a shorter course, the greens are too fast, almost unfairly. Hopefully they will look better and the sanded 'divots' will repair themselves with growth. Not sure why GolfNow only collected 1/2 of the processing fee, and the remaining 90% of the cost collected at the pro shop.
This course is wide open, not many hazards
The couse is well maintained, couple long grassed tee boxes, but greens were in good condition for a <$30 golf course. Only 5 bunkers on the entire course, and only 4 holes have real water hazard in play. Great to work on your accuracy and improve your game. Not for those looking for a challenging course.
Hard to lose a ball
Well maintained. No obstacles to speak of, one or two patches of rough, a few water hazards but no sand traps. Very open, hard to lose a ball unless they go in the ponds. One big field with fairways, greens and some trees.
Flooding and water at Lake Park right now
The grounds are under severe conditions. Cart path only, which is definitely important as storms devastated the fairways. Detritus in many places, as well as accumulations of grassy muck. Greens are decent - in winter shape - but fast and smooth. Bunkers are worthless, treat as GUR.
Forget it
Too crowded
No crowd control
No starter, free for all on 1st tee
Course in ok shape.
Terrible greens. Little sand in bunkers.
Course for novice players. Fairways run parallel to each other. Very dangerous course due to type of players on course. Overall condition of course was poor.
The greens were in great shape especially, for Late January in North Texas.
From the time I arrived, I was impressed. I will make the drive from my home, across the street from the course that I used to play.
Great Beginner Course!
Played here a few times, the course is quite a bit easier than other courses around DFW... That being said, it is still fun to play even for better players. Allows for a relaxing round on a property that is taken care of, especially for winter conditions. Fairways still had spring to them, and the greens rolled fairly true.
I would pay an extra $10 and play somewhere else.
Extremely windy with no trees to block the wind. But there are no trees to get in your shots way either. The greens are very short, and fast to putt on. The fairways are very short and make taking a divit tough at times. A good beginner course, but because there are a lot of beginner's on the course, pace of play is slow at best.
Wide open
A few sand traps and water on a couple of holes keep this course interesting, but this is a forgiving golf course. It's fairly well maintained with a few views of the lake. We had fun here and will go back.
Great Value!
This is a fun course. It is very forgiving. It's hard to lose a golf ball on most of this course, as there aren't many hazard areas. The course is very well kept. It does tend to get a little on the busy side so it backs up on the tee sometimes, but it's worth it. I enjoy playing this course.
Driver friendly golf course
Very fun an wide open to play, scores well greens in good shape
Lake Park Rocks
Not the most challenging of courses but great value for money, the greens could do with some work but as long as you accept that not all putts are going to run true its ok.
5 stars price for 5 stars course
Great course to play and practice your game for a great low price. I play here 2 times a week 10 buck w/cart, gps, range ball and great condition course, you can't beat this anywhere. I am so happen to be working about a mile away form this course. I will play there every chance I get. The only problem is there are so many high school kids working on their game there some time is over crowded. but who can complain for only 10 bucks after 5p.
