Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

An Easy Links-Type Course
Lake Park is indeed in a park with most of the holes running parallel to each other. There is a little water here and there, and a couple of holes run along the dam with OB - otherwise it's impossible to lose a ball.
Holes are pretty straightforward with very little bunkering. Greens are in good shape and pretty flat.
Fairways have generous landing areas.
I enjoyed my afternoon there - it was worth the Golf Now Hot Deal.
I can't really think of one memorable hole - I won't be back for a while just because it's not very interesting.
Good place to introduce a young person to the game.
Price
The price on GolfNow was $20.00 per person. They charged me $25.00 per person, but I didn't realize this until I returned home.
Great for the price.
This course has some long holes, along with some very nice par 3's. It's straight enough, and has decently wide fairways. The greens are in good shape. Sometimes it gets packed so be prepared to play behind or through people if they'll let you.
Decent course for the price
This course needs a marshal out there to speed up play.
fairly okay course
Pro:
1. Mostly wide and straight fairways.
2. Good pace of play, you don't have to rush like I'm most of other golf course, people behind you were polite.
3. Have a really nice cart girl
Con:
1.done holes are winded up together, so you need to for sure know which green are you aiming.
Good price and value
Hey, for the price..very good.!What are yougoing to do
for $25. ............................................................................................................
Wide open holes but busy
A popular, nicely priced course. The holes are not the longest, are mostly flat, and have almost no woods. Decent amount of water and rock "jetty" adds some challenge. Still, this should be an easy course, however...
There is a VERY efficient use of land, as the fairways have very little separation from each other (so play frequently overlaps fairways). The GPS on your cart looks like a video game with all the other carts that show up within your hole's map. And when you are riding in the cart, or setting up to swing, you have to keep an eye all over for other hits or golfers from adjacent holes. It is intimidating and distracting in a way I've not come across in golf elsewhere.
Folks who are used to this course and play it efficiently can play super fast. There are plenty of slow golfers, too, so there's a bit of playing through. Our foursome played at noon on a non-holiday weekday and couldn't play the 18 under 4.5 hrs.
I will definitely play it again and would recommend it, but I hope I will find a less busy time.
Some of the best greens in the area
Longest hole is about 160yds, so great practice for short game. The greens are the best I've seen in the metroplex. The elevation changes, hillsides, water and buildings make for fun, precise golf.
I would have rated 5 stars if it weren't for poor timing: when I checked in I was informed the 9th hole was closed for maintenance, and then once playing, without warning a crew started digging up the 4th hole green, effectively closing that one too. It would have been nice to know at booking time that 2 of 7 holes would be closed.
Also, cost is a little high for the short 9 holes (or the double round 18), because there are several 18 hole courses nearby where you can play for $20.
A wide open course, good for novice players.
This course is wide open and popular with seniors and beginners. Low handicap players will not find any challenge here. The staff is friendly and the costs are reasonable.
Tee to Green above average, Greens need some work
Although a shorter course, the greens are too fast, almost unfairly. Hopefully they will look better and the sanded 'divots' will repair themselves with growth. Not sure why GolfNow only collected 1/2 of the processing fee, and the remaining 90% of the cost collected at the pro shop.
This course is wide open, not many hazards
The couse is well maintained, couple long grassed tee boxes, but greens were in good condition for a <$30 golf course. Only 5 bunkers on the entire course, and only 4 holes have real water hazard in play. Great to work on your accuracy and improve your game. Not for those looking for a challenging course.
Hard to lose a ball
Well maintained. No obstacles to speak of, one or two patches of rough, a few water hazards but no sand traps. Very open, hard to lose a ball unless they go in the ponds. One big field with fairways, greens and some trees.
Flooding and water at Lake Park right now
The grounds are under severe conditions. Cart path only, which is definitely important as storms devastated the fairways. Detritus in many places, as well as accumulations of grassy muck. Greens are decent - in winter shape - but fast and smooth. Bunkers are worthless, treat as GUR.
Forget it
Too crowded
No crowd control
No starter, free for all on 1st tee
Course in ok shape.
Terrible greens. Little sand in bunkers.
Course for novice players. Fairways run parallel to each other. Very dangerous course due to type of players on course. Overall condition of course was poor.
The greens were in great shape especially, for Late January in North Texas.
From the time I arrived, I was impressed. I will make the drive from my home, across the street from the course that I used to play.
Great Beginner Course!
Played here a few times, the course is quite a bit easier than other courses around DFW... That being said, it is still fun to play even for better players. Allows for a relaxing round on a property that is taken care of, especially for winter conditions. Fairways still had spring to them, and the greens rolled fairly true.
I would pay an extra $10 and play somewhere else.
Extremely windy with no trees to block the wind. But there are no trees to get in your shots way either. The greens are very short, and fast to putt on. The fairways are very short and make taking a divit tough at times. A good beginner course, but because there are a lot of beginner's on the course, pace of play is slow at best.
Wide open
A few sand traps and water on a couple of holes keep this course interesting, but this is a forgiving golf course. It's fairly well maintained with a few views of the lake. We had fun here and will go back.
