Formerly known as Arrowhead Country Club, Pinnacle opened in 1970 as a 9-hole track nestled on the cozy banks of Cedar Creek Lake. Tough times descended and the course was shut down before reopening with an additional nine and new ownership in the 1980s.
Dallas’ eastward growth has turned many onto the pleasant, rural atmosphere at Pinnacle Golf Club. Every hole is lined with trees and, despite its short length, the course is particularly tough because of the numerous dogleg fairways. Not counting the par 3s, 11 of 14 holes have doglegs. Because of the trees it’s recommended that you leave the driver in the bag.
The toughest hole is No. 15, a par 5 that goes 511 yards and offers a testy risk-reward decision. With a good drive into the wide-open fairway, going for it in two is possible by cutting the lake on the left side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Hwy. 175 east, find the town of Eustace and turn right on Hwy. 316. Drive. Turn right on Hwy. 316 and drive 5.5 miles to Clear Creek Rd. Turn right again and follow the signs to the course.

Worst greens I have ever seen.
After we drove out from Dallas, paid for our round of golf, got the cart keys, we were then told they are replacing the greens in June/July.
I’m not exaggerating when I say the greens might as well have been in the bunker.
Nice Memorial Day Round
The pro shop staff mentioned the issue with some of the greens having bare spots and even apologized for the condition. Greens are being killed mid-June with all new greens to follow. 4 or 5 greens had some major issues but the others were still much better than my home course. I will definitely be back and can't wait to play on the new greens later this year.
Annual Pinnacle Trip
The staff was friendly and the cart girl was great. The greens on the other hand were garbage.
Greens are still a mess
Greens continue to struggle. We were told that they are replacing all the greens in June. I believe they have dropped their price to play. They should not be charging any mpore than $25 to play for what you get. Fairways are as hard as a rock and thin.
Greens are a mess
Greens are an absolute mess. It's like putting on the surface of the moon. Lots of bare spots. Rest of the course is fine, but they are overcharging on the round due to the greens.
Pinnacle club
Pinnacle is overall a great course. The layout, the fairways, and most of the time the pace. Only comment I have is the greens are in terrible condition. I have been told they are in the works to redo but it’s been awhile and really no progress. But besides that great staffing. Grill and bar well worth it.
Condition review
The course layout and tee to green are good to very good. Unfortunately, the greens have mostly been lost due to a fungus. Appears they’ll be replacing then starting in 2 weeks with temporary greens. Then sounds like not ready until around September. Too bad as this course has always been a favorite.
Greens are bad!
For some reason every green had dead, bare spots. In some places 1/2 the green!
Beautiful course
Great layout with large mature trees. LOTS of water hazards. Greens are not in good shape right now though, possibly due to recent weather patterns in the area. They’re extremely sandy with large dead areas.
Greens poor
They have lost the greens so they were in poor shape. Rest of course was good
great place to play
always a fun track to play. greens are starting to come around.
Poor! Poor! Greens Maintenance
The overall rating is average. The greens (75% of them) were in very bad conditions. Mostly sandy patches all over the greens. If the Pro Shop, Golf Now, or Tee Off would have warned the consumer it could have been better. Also if the course would have offered a discount rate for the conditions of the greens, something besides the surprise we got at the first hole!
