Formerly known as Arrowhead Country Club, Pinnacle opened in 1970 as a 9-hole track nestled on the cozy banks of Cedar Creek Lake. Tough times descended and the course was shut down before reopening with an additional nine and new ownership in the 1980s.
Dallas’ eastward growth has turned many onto the pleasant, rural atmosphere at Pinnacle Golf Club. Every hole is lined with trees and, despite its short length, the course is particularly tough because of the numerous dogleg fairways. Not counting the par 3s, 11 of 14 holes have doglegs. Because of the trees it’s recommended that you leave the driver in the bag.
The toughest hole is No. 15, a par 5 that goes 511 yards and offers a testy risk-reward decision. With a good drive into the wide-open fairway, going for it in two is possible by cutting the lake on the left side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Hwy. 175 east, find the town of Eustace and turn right on Hwy. 316. Drive. Turn right on Hwy. 316 and drive 5.5 miles to Clear Creek Rd. Turn right again and follow the signs to the course.

Unprofessional marshal
4 of us teed off at 3:25 pm. No one in front or behind us! We were 2 man scrambling, 2 teams! Finished #1 about to start #2 and the marshal approached us and said he had gotten several complaints on us. Said we were 10 minutes behind in play. I asked him if he knew what time we teed off and he said that’s it you all are out of here!. A group of 16 was on number one tee box and were homeowners in pinnacle! I think they wanted the course to themselves! Won’t waste another dime there! Then he acted like a complete jerk in the pro shop!
Rained out
We were rained out. Waiting to see if we get a rain check from golf now
Greens still dormant
Greens are virtually unplayable at this time. The grass is still dormant and they have heavily sanded the greens. T boxes are in similar shape. I have played this course many times and this is the worst condition it has ever been in. Hopefully with warmer weather the greens will respond but I would wait until then
So sad
This place used to be a hidden gem but the greens are unplayable it’s really sad. They should honestly be using temporary greens on all but three holes. I’ve never seen greens this bad. Not to mention my range finder seems to have grown legs and walked off. I will not be back
The Green's was in bad shape. No grass just dry sand.
Great course
This is an amazing course and is one of my favorite courses to play.
Greens are unplayable
Until Pinnacle completely refurbishes their “greens” (dead fungus-ridden unplayable surfaces), take a hard pass. You would not play them for free.
What happened?????
This course used to be a hidden gem!!!!! But now the green conditions make this course unplayable it really sucks I used to love this course but they need to desperately repair all but three greens they are honestly unputtable it’s so sad
Not worth the money today
The greens are in horrendous shape, we had to do automatic 2 puts on some of them. They were also extremely dry and mostly sand. They are charging way too much money not to have better conditions. I understand its spring, but my home course is an hour away and the greens are excellent, albeit dormant and starting to grow. Wait until summer.
Brick yard review
Played today with 3 other guys and we all thought the course was in pretty good condition. The greens had some dead spots and some areas of the greens were roped off. The greens were fast but held good when chipping onto. We got the hot deal and thought it was worth the money! Course conditions should only improve with warmer weather. Will be returning soon!
Surprising Course Conditions
Always enjoy playing here… but at this time the course seems to be in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it. Greens were nearly unputtable….tee boxes were punched.

The layout is great The greens were a mess never seen em like this The pro shop counter person was rude when I asked when I should meet the 3 some I was joining she said just go to the first tee and join em I went to the first tee and there was a 4 some on the tee box I waited 15 minutes and a 2some showed up I asked them if I could join em they agreed we had a fun round afterward we had a wonderful dinner at the clubhouse
