About
Hidden Falls Golf Club is a Leon Howard design that opened in 1974. The course cuts through a pecan grove on the front and what seems like an ocean of water on the back, creating two totally different golf experiences. Howard uncharacteristically left out water on the tight, pecan-lined front, with the wet stuff in play on only one hole. However this one pond plays a role in the best hole on the course, no. 4, which features a pond and waterfall in the landing area off the tee. No. 4 is rated as the most difficult. The more open back nine is dominated by water. No. 10 starts off with a drive of 200-yards-plus over the pond fronting the tee. A small creek comes into play on the next three holes, which lead you to the other signature hole, no. 14. Water lines the left side of the 14th, and the approach is over a small pond. If that's not enough, the final three holes all feature water in play off the tee.

The staff is great. The course is in great condition. Affordable rates and most of all, the pace of play is very good. You’re not waiting at all to tee off at every tee box.

Top 5 greens I have ever played
Previous reviews fairly accurately describe the pros and cons of the course. I do say the fairways are pretty generous. There are homes both sides but only hit into them on horrendous tee shots. The back nine becomes more target golf and knowing the carry plus rollout will help prevent penalty shots in future rounds. Most if not all greens are slanted from back to front so it is better to be short than long as a rule. Lastly the greens were rolling fast and true and consistent speed form green to green. I can't wait to get back here again.

Top 5 best greens ever
Course knowledge will help maximize a good score. Very friendly staff to greet and inform a golfer of the how to of this particular course but even with warning nothing like playing it a couple times to know how to approach each hole. Explain in more detail later. They front nine winds thru housing with generous landing areas. I hit OB with only horrendous tee shots. Forn 1 to 18 the greens are fairly similar sloping back to front with moderate slope.and slightly raised. It is better to be short than long because of this and over the green pitch backs will be difficult. The greens were receptive and not hard but still fast and true and consistent. No grain to factor in at this point of the year. The back nine became a lot of target golf as drivers off the tee would be wet or OB on short tight dogleg. This is where knowing the exact distance and club carry and rollout is needed to stay penalty free.. I am looking forward to playing here again.

Love the layout!
Challenging yet fair. Number 16 is definitely a challenge. Have to lay up short of the water unless you are a big hitter that can carry the water. Usually playing into the wind so good luck with that. :-) Staff is great! Course conditions are very good. A bargain!

Great place
Greeted by friendly folks, glad to see you. Offered any help you might need or supplies for your game were available. Nice driving, chipping and putting practice areas.
Course was excellent maintained. Fairways are great and maintained. Greens are green and hold your shots.
Pace of play was great (4 hours on a Saturday starting 10:40).

First Time
It is a very forgiving course. I enjoyed my time there. Staff was great and course was in good shape. Got behind a slow foursome and a foursome behind us hit at us on multiple occasions.

Fun course
Great layout, greens are in great condition for January. Excellent job on overseeing for the winter. Price can't be beat. Not an overly difficult layout, several excellent risk reward holes. Worth the trip from the Austin metro area. One of my favorite Texas Hill Country courses.
