Hidden Falls Golf Club

About
Hidden Falls Golf Club is a Leon Howard design that opened in 1974. The course cuts through a pecan grove on the front and what seems like an ocean of water on the back, creating two totally different golf experiences. Howard uncharacteristically left out water on the tight, pecan-lined front, with the wet stuff in play on only one hole. However this one pond plays a role in the best hole on the course, no. 4, which features a pond and waterfall in the landing area off the tee. No. 4 is rated as the most difficult. The more open back nine is dominated by water. No. 10 starts off with a drive of 200-yards-plus over the pond fronting the tee. A small creek comes into play on the next three holes, which lead you to the other signature hole, no. 14. Water lines the left side of the 14th, and the approach is over a small pond. If that's not enough, the final three holes all feature water in play off the tee.

Great experience
Greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Friendly service, fun course. Will definitely play again.
One of the better ones
Probably one of the best courses I've played in Texas
Awesome course, great staff
It’s a little old school and that’s what I loved, course is in the best condition I’ve seen in Texas so far this summer and the staff was super helpful and friendly. It was our first time playing this course and unlike a lot of places they were very helpful and not pretentious. The range was included in the tee time and the seat covers on the cart made us much more comfortable for the duration of the round. No spectator fee, all around the best experience I’ve had with a golf course in Texas
Nice place for such a horrible experience
By "horrible experience" I do NOT mean the course was horrible. It was my game that would frighten women and children.
If I were to suggest changes at Hidden Falls, it would be 1) add bunkers and 2) mow down the tee boxes (pretty shaggy). Greens are great. Fairways are great. Service is great.
What would be even greater? If the good folks at Hidden Falls would give me a mulligan. I'll do better next time...
Robert
Greens are bumpy and extremely slow. They are thick Bermuda that has not been cut or rolled well. Balls didn’t roll true.
Fairways and tee boxes are average.
Nice Course very affordable
Enjoyed playing. Greens seem to play a little slow due to length of grass. Played an just over 3 hours. Very forgiving course. Assists with pace of play.
Good Times
I shot my lowest round ever here. Nice challenge. No sand, but a lot of water holes on the back 9. Really impressed and the restaurant was good also. Had a great and I will be back.
Good course
The greens are thick and really bumpy. They need to mow them down to roll a bit smoother. Need to hit every putt so hard to get it close to the hole. No need to read these greens because they will bump and hop out of the line.
Friendly Pro Shop Staff. Greens need work though
Had bad luck with my golf shoes. My right shoe bottom came loose and i’d asked Pro Shop staff member if he had any adhesive or duct tape to fix my shoe but didn’t have any. However he offered to give me a new pair of shoes. Because of the situation he elected to give them to me half off. Great guy and very friendly!
Only complaints are the greens need some work (very bumpy) but speed was good. Also need to have a cart girl or someone that comes by on the course with drinks/food
Fun!
Had a good time the course was not what I expected the dog legs force certain shots so that was different and fun. Greens they are covered with grass no bare spots , they need trimmed and rolled they do not roll smooth at all so prepare to be frustrated.
Good not great place.
Behind a 5 SOME….
I am pretty regular at Hidden Falls; 3-4 times a month, and enjoy the course, the staff, and overall atmosphere….
My last round though, I found myself waiting behind a 3-some, who was delayed by the 5-some in front on them on the front nine holes. Two of the 3-some didn’t continue on the back nine holes out of their frustration. The third gentlemen joined my and my guest on #10.
We found ourselves stuck behind this 5-some of, what appeared to be members with their own carts and taking their sweet time. They musta had money on the round, cause they were extremely deliberate on every shot and spent a lot of time on each putting green.
Thank God they quit after #16.
