About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Pushed out tee time out almost 30 minutes because they didn’t have enough carts. Somehow lost the tee time for the third in our threesome and were very rude in the pro shop about it, so then they send us out as a fivesome paired up with two other old men probably 25+ handicap. The pace of place was horrendous, I don’t think there was a single hole we didn’t wait and struggled to finish 18 with a 12:10 tee time. Ridiculous!

I suppose they have removed some weeds on some of the greens, so there was some damaged areas. But in time the greens will grow back & play fine.

Forgiving Course
The course is open with many opportunities to recover if you miss the fairway. Greens are in good condition par four are reach able in two with an average length drive. Enjoyed playing here.

Fun but confusing
Was my first time here and I enjoyed the course. Had issues and more due to my skill but I saw others have this same problem, but the fairway layouts caused so many balls crossing holes it made it confusing to find the right hole and my ball. Multiple times people crossed into my fairway looking for balls. I’ve seen this at other courses but it was literally every hole here. So I had fun but it was tough. Haha. Will be back though.

This is a great course to test your skills but you need to be patient. Accuracy over distance is the mind set for this course.
