About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Pretty good little course
This is a fun/easy little track with plenty of tee times. We played around noon on a Saturday and teed off on time however after completing the first hole, the was a group on the next tee box and one waiting in line. No big deal, we assume it will clear up unfortunately nothing changed. We saw multiple course marshals but they just seem to shrug their shoulders. They should be empowered to tell groups to speed up without fear of retribution. I like playing the course, they just need to help ensure no more than a 4.5 hour round. Ours a little over 5 hours.

Not worth it
Course and greens in bad shape. Not a good value for the money. I would only play it if I lived very close. Not worth any kind of drive

Oak Hollow GC - McKinney TX
My go to course. I live in McKinney and have probably played the course 150 times over 23 years. Like the course in many ways.
Needs: distance markings on holes is poor to non existent. Most have 150 yard marker but there are few painted markers for 100, 150, 200 yards painted on cart paths.
Driving range needs new flags with distance identified on a sign or something.

Not worth price
This place should be 25$ for 18 with cart and I would still skip. Maybe a hot deal golfnow for 15-20$. The course and greens are in awful condition. Dont know how they charge +35$ a round, especially with not having course amenities (beverage cart, course water, kitchen). Had to bash a golf course but 38$ for a round? C'mon...

Oak Hollow
Great little course in Mckinney, TX. The course layout is very easy and there are some challenging holes and the course is in great shape. The staff is always friendly and great. The range is very nice and has plenty of space. Overall great place to play and will continue to go there.

Pace of Play and Course Conditions Ruin the Outing
This is the golf course i grew up playing at. It used to be the cheap option to get in 18 holes. Now it seems to be pricing competitively with other courses in the area. All the while not updating much themselves. It had rained the previous day, so understandably the course was pretty wet. The greens in particular were not up to standards with huge divots randomly on the greens. The really big issue was the pace of play. Something that typically isn't a problem here. The starter Marshall seemed to have no control over the start times and was just sending anyone through. It was backed up from hole 2 through the rest of the 18 holes. The majority of traffic was coming from a foursome who were walking. Overall a disappointing time at the course. Only will come back because it does hold some sentimental value being located my hometown.

Not worth the money
Sandy and aerated greens were like putting through sand traps. Literally no grass on some greens. Not worth what they are charging. Should be ashamed.

Poor staff, terrible greens
It all started at check in the card machine was having issues but I was patient... then people were gathering maybe 4ft apart due to the waits and a gentleman behind the counter not knowing the issues, hollers can y’all move apart... then mumbles what are y’all a bunch of monkeys. Then the grounds man punching the flags was incredibly rude and literally was adjusting pins while we were playing taking his sweet time making comments when we were near not letting us hit up causing a bit of slower pace. Lastly I booked and when I did had no clue that the greens were aerated there was no alert when booking nothing the shape of about 15 of the 18 greens was beyond a disgrace and I avoided booking multiple course that showed aeration messages bc I don’t like putting on something that rolls like gravel.
No wonder your customer service is so bad y’all even use automated responses to all your reviews! That won’t bring anyone back that’s slightly frustrated with the experience!

Good Course, would play again.
Oak Hollow is a fun course. I really enjoyed playing it today. Course conditions are not great, fairways are mostly good, greens are average. The greens are bumby with patches of brown and lots of sand recently placed the on greens.
All in all the price is right I payed $30 with a hot deal. I would return to play again.
