About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Nice and quirky
We just had a very heavy rain so can’t be sure of course conditions, but I suspect it would be in good shape. It handled the excess water very well. Not sure I trust the yardages on scorecard and tee markers. GPS didn’t agree with them. Still it’s a nice course and I will return.
More Tees Needed
This is your basic muni...reasonably priced, moderately groomed, with good greens and staff. That said, the course needs a seniors' tee half way between the 6,000 (white) and 5,000 (red tee box), as well as a tee at 4,000 to 4,200 yards for juniors and senior women. Golf needs all the interest and support it can garner, and tees that make the game too long for several player groups do nothing to promote the game.

Best staff and decent course
The friendliest staff in DFW! The course layout is average with a lot of easy holes but there are a couple that challenge you! Conditions are decent and the value is exceptional especially for weekend play

Pricey for what it is
Fairways are not in the greatest shape. Downed tree blocks fairway on another hole and needs to be cleared. Greens are fuzzy. Pay another ten bucks and play somewhere else.

Rough eats golfballs
The rough is too long and if your out of the fairway the ball can be difficult to find, you can miss the faiway by two feet and loose your ball. We waited to play just about every shot n the last 6 holes. There are much better deals out there. I won't be playing here again.

Get the mowers off the green
Half of the time when we were playing in the morning we were attempting to avoid hitting the lawn mower or a guy watering the greens. If you hit it in the rough good luck finding your ball. Gave it another chance but won’t come back now.

Very fun to play
Weather was perfect today and it helped us have a very enjoyable round. Our three some played it in under 4hours. Nice challeng ing layouts. Roughs are deep and greens are slow.

Good Time
For a public course, it was in good shape. There were a couple of greens that looked like they had recently had some work done, but it did not effect play. The staff was excellent and speed of play was good.

Pretty good little course
This is a fun/easy little track with plenty of tee times. We played around noon on a Saturday and teed off on time however after completing the first hole, the was a group on the next tee box and one waiting in line. No big deal, we assume it will clear up unfortunately nothing changed. We saw multiple course marshals but they just seem to shrug their shoulders. They should be empowered to tell groups to speed up without fear of retribution. I like playing the course, they just need to help ensure no more than a 4.5 hour round. Ours a little over 5 hours.
