About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Love this course, staff is great, course is nice to play sometimes it gets backed up at the holes, so you have to wait but other times its nice an smooth just depends on the day LOL.
Overall love placing this course.
Worst golf experience
The Marshalls were very very annoying, always coming and talking about faster play. 0 enjoyment 0 relaxation. They told me if you have a bad shot, get your ball and walk to the green. Absolutely rude and horrible behavior, I did not feel welcomed. Never ever would pay to get a talking to every single hole of the game.
Not bad
Course is in pretty good shape. The greens had been aerated recently, but rolled pretty well in spite of that. Got behind a group of kids hitting multiple balls. Slowed play considerably
Pretty Course
First time playing at Oak Hollow. We loved that they had a starter to guide you when you tee off on hole one. The course was super easy to follow enough difficulty. The greens were super fast with a lot of sand on them, but overall a really great experience. We intend to play here again!
Good course for the Hot Deal money
Course was in ok shape. Tee boxes were great. Fairways were ok and greens seemed to roll fine. First time here and for the hot deal money, I would go back. Round was very slow as we waited on every hole in front but back opened up. Not everyone played past 9 so that helped. Beware of number 8. There is a reason it’s the number 1 handicap hole.
Nice Course
Course is in good shape. Friendly staff and pace of play was moving right along. Enjoyed my round.
GROW THE FAIRWAYS LIKE THE TEE BOXES!
The tee boxes are very good; plenty of green grass, nice and plush!
Now, just grow the fairways exactly how you grow the tee boxes and you will have one of the premier municipal courses in the state!
The fairways are cut WAY TOO THIN! Stop cutting them so low! Golfers want good lies in the fairways and, unfortunately, yours barely have any grass but plenty of dirt and hard pan lies. Please address this!
Decent Muni
Its a muni so things aren't perfect, but I paid $17 (hot Deal - $10 monthly credit). Fairways and tee boxes had lots of worm castings due to recent rains--not much they could do about that--but therewise they were in decent shape. Greens were in very good shape---getting more receptive as the new-ish greens break in a little. Not much sand on the course, tough in windy conditions, all and all a good value. Folks are nice, unpretentious there...
