About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Great staff
The course is in really good condition. Staff is awesome and extremely helpful...and they handle the stress of being busy very well.
Great folks to play with there..even if you're by yourself...
Great layout and conditions but soggy
I love the layout of this course, and it is in great shape compared to before the renovation last year. But, they need to address the areas on the course, including tee boxes and fairways, that are always soggy and muddy. That's the only negative about the course. The staff is great, but the beverage cart didn't come around on the back 9. We saw her twice on the front but not at all the rest of the round which likely cost her and the course some money on food and drink, especially during an 11:50 AM round on a Saturday with temperatures approaching 100 degrees.
Second visit to Oak Hollow
Overall conditions very good. My only complaint is that the areas in front of the greens are so wet. Chipped and putted many a mud-covered ball just off the green. Friendly staff. No GPS on carts.
Very friendly staff with a good course
Had a good time playing this course. It is set up well and is a fun round to play. That may be a little too lenient on pace of play(probably to remain friendly), but overall a great course.
Greens and staff are excellent
This course has improved dramatically and is definitely worth a second look if you haven’t been in awhile. The greens were excellent and the staff kept it moving even though it was busy.
Great Value for DFW
I like this course. For what you’re paying, it’s probably one of the best value courses in DFW. Challenging at points but in great condition. Seemed a bit understaffed , but still would come back here for the price. Would recommend to all golfers
