Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Good course!!
Other than the kid at the clubhouse on his phone watching videos while we stood there waiting for him to acknowledge us, it was good! New greens are very hard. Flew several approach shots in high with no ball marks and ball would bounce and roll off the back. Guessing it will take some time for them to soften up. Otherwise course was much improved!
Nice greens. Still to pricey
Played with my son and friends. Played scramble format. Still we had the group behind us hitting up on us. Greens were in great shape. Fast. Overall, the course was in good shape. Used to play it often when it was $25 to play. Over $40 , just not worth it. There are cheaper and better options locally.
Nice Course
The pace of play was way too slow. Teed off at 11:10am and got finish after 3 pm. Way too slow.
Good conditions
The greens were in good shape. Not a very challenging course but would return if played at a at a Hot Deal price.
Course Okay
I have played here a couple times and the pace is always slow. That would be my biggest issue because course layout is good.
Gem to find
Course was busy as we played on a Saturday. Pace was good. Enjoyed the layout as it requires using all your clubs. Greens are in great shape but playing for the first time, hard to read. Putted consistent thru the whole course, tho. Driving range hitting zones were pretty rough from a full week of practice rounds but at least they aren't mats!!!!! It's definitely on the list to revisit on a week day! I WILL be back!!
Great shape for Summer!
Pace of play 4:19 on a Monday.
Fairways and tee boxes in good shape.
Greens in great shape. They were redone last fall and are firm and roll true, no bare spots. One downside is that they're so firm they don't hold approach shots well. I hit @ 13 of 18 greens and only 5-6 held on the surface, the rest ended up on the collar or just in the green side rough.
Wonderful course!
And not played this course in 20 years, wonderful condition great value, good Pace and Play
Oak Hollow after Storms
Maintenance is trying to catch up with the growing rough. Some areas need to be bailed and some areas still need mowing. Overall, OH is a good course to have fun playing with your friends.
Great course
Great local course with friendly staff and even after rain the course dries up quickly.
Love this course
Been playing this course for years with my buddies as it’s a nice in between course for all of us. I didn’t get into golf seriously until 4 years ago and yesterday was my first time playing seriously… really enjoyed myself and the course. I’ll be back
