Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Play This course
This course is in as good of shape as any around. Amazing condition especially with the lack of rai
Course was average
Course was average, you get what you’re paying for. But the staff wasn’t friendly and is just looking to grab money. Made up a “rule” that all golfers need to have their own set of clubs. Made our group pay for an extra set of clubs due to pace of play. Would recommend for a cheap course but don’t let them steal extra money out of you.
Great course at a great price
I play here almost once a week. It is a great course for a great price. Greens and fairways are in great shape and love to just get out and play 9 after work. I’ve recommended this course to others and will continue to!
Excellent value
Course was in very good shape overall for Texas in July. Fairways were very healthy and the greens, in general, are in very good shape. Staff is friendly and the golf carts are in very good shape and clean.
Would recommend this track to anyone!
Great Value for a good course
I’ve played here a few times. The course seems to be in better shape than other munis in the area. I’m no agronomist, but the greens roll pretty true and DO NOT have the large dead spots that other courses are suffering. It’s a pretty fun layout that isn’t too difficult. Took a beginner with me last round and he was not beaten down by the course. I like their chipping green and practice bunker set up, but hate that they have mats in the range, so I don’t hit balls here. The clubhouse is really basic but they have all of the basics covered and the staff was friendly. Overall, it’s a good course for the money and I recommend it.
Staff
Donnie at desk was great, then when storms were coming in the marshal said we had 15 min till we got hit. He was right on, the. While sitting on the patio, the cart guy asked if I left my umbrella, yes. What great thoughtful people and the course is in great shape.
Thanks all
Great Value
Played 6/13/23. It was raining and they tried to hold off on cart path only, but understandable when they change it 15 minutes before my round. The course overall was in great shape. Tee boxes and fairways were awesome. Greens were a bit sandy and fast.
For $40 you can’t beat this course. I played the tips and it made for a challenging round. Pace of play was hard to judge because the rain held people off, but I will say I say a marshal or two throughout the round so course management was good.
Will definitely be returning to this course on a day where it’s not raining.
Excellent Course
GREAT!!!!
First of all, when we got there, we were greeted by the club pro who got to know us for a few minutes and then gave us a free bucket of balls to go to the range with with a little advice as well. He Couldn’t have been a more warm welcoming to a new course course that was very well-maintained. The pace of play was excellent and I will definitely be back. This is a hidden gym in Dallas. !
