Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Golfer Reviews
Beautiful greens
Overall the tee boxes and fairways were average for this time of year but the greens were immaculate. I enjoyed how much variation there was from hole to hole. I’ll be back for sure.
Fast greens in great shape
Nice municipal course. Greens were in excellent shape and fast. Pace of play was under 4 hours on a Saturday. Will definitely return.
Better be able to putt
Course is in great condition. Unfortunately pace of play is still at 4 hours during the week. Hard part, green are smooth and slick as glass. So you better be able to putt.
Great value if using an app.
I was able to get 18 holes, 11:50 tee time with a cart for $25. The greens are great.
