About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.

Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Best greens in Dallas
Somehow the team at Mesquite has managed to have some of the best greens I have played on in quite some time. It seems like the people who play there take pride in them as I could hardly find an unrepaired divot mark. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. . .
Solid Course
I’ve played here twice this year and this course is great. The layout is super fun, and the conditions are fantastic. It’s easy to get to right off I-30 but it feels like you are very secluded and not in the city or surrounded by houses. I highly recommend this course.
Pace of play
Playing on a Saturday can be unbearable in DFW these days. But not here! Hats off to all the employees and especially the Marshalls who ensure tee off times are spaced 10-15 mins apart and manage the on course pace of play. I was told the goal was a 4 hour round before we teed off. We ended up finishing 3 hours and 40 mins. If you plan to come here and goof around plan for the Marshall to follow you and ride you tell your group gets back on track.
Loved the layout! Greens are undulated and fast!
Found my new favorite course in the area.
Worth It
The course is in great shape. The greens are in excellent shape and fast. Definitely worth playing.
Quick greens
Went w 3 friends & they recently sanded their greens. Faster than normal but still a fun round. Great weather, not much humidity so very enjoyable. One of best public courses & great greens. Will go back
Outstanding
This was a beautiful, beautiful, cause great conditions very challenging, but it can be played the greens are some of the best in DFW they roll true and the fairways are green like a professional baseball field you got to play it

This course is outstanding. The layout is challenging. If you never payed don’t plAy from the tips unless your a close to starch gofler. The green wow they like putting on a table. They roll so so true amazing course you have to play it
