Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Great layout! Great price!
Drive up appeal is lacking. Pro shop is barren but get on the course and you will fall in love! For this price you can't beat it. Pace of play was awesome for a weekend especially! Snack bar lady was super fun and helpful! Prices for food and drinks are great! The greens could not have been in better shape and they were very challenging too! Highly recommend!
Don’t Come Here
The marshal mafia will hound you to the point of it effecting your game. I was playing the best round of my life with my dad brother and friend then we were hassled to the point of throwing me off mentally. Instead of politely asking us to speed up, we were rudely and disrespectfully spoken to the monitored by different marshals the rest of the round. An obvious distraction from our game we paid for. He said there were open holes in front of us, but that was because we started with open holes in front of us. The group behind us never waited. We kept pace with them, which is most important. I’ll never return to this establishment.
Good Shape
Mesquite is in good shape, thick grass, greens fast! Plus, I had a hole in one on no. 6!
Just a great deal and course
Hate to give this course a great review in fear that more people will discover this hidden gem in Dallas. The greens are ridiculously excellent, fast, plenty of undulation, and just 3 putting is a goal!
16 and 17 will scare the crap out of you and ruin your scorecard, a par 5 and 225 yard par 3.
If you are a straight hitter, the course is probably fairly easy. Black tees are longer than most people should be playing unless you are a 5 HC.
Those who complain about the parking lot and carts not being issued until 15 minutes before, just leave. The parking lot could not be closer to the pro shop and range, so just carry your darn clubs and not be so lazy.
The staff has been great all 6 times I've been there in the past few months.
Played yesterday with groups in front of us the entire way and still played in exactly 3 hours!
No coolers and personal beer on the course is a Dallas City Ordinance, so live with it.
Back 9
Pro shop allowed 2 foursomes go off back and then lied about it. Consequently had to wait on tees from 12 on. And when we asked to play thru it was denied.
Exceeded expectations
Condition was in great condition. Great value for the money. The clubhouse a d range could use some updates, but overall the course offered an unexpectedly great experience. No regrets.
Awesome Course
First time playing here. Teed off at Noon on a Friday and even through course was fully booked we played in 4 hours. Course layout made the round interesting and the greens were in Excellent condition and really fast !!! Luckily I played with 2 guys who had played the course before which was invaluable as there are some difficult shorter tee shots and tricky pin positions Really enjoyed the round and will definitely be back
Good Course
Greens are fast and smooth.
Putts very true.
Fun and Great Value.
Excellent
Mesquite is in the top 3 courses in DFW area. Greens are the best of any muni in Texas!
Pace of play is awesome and Ronnie, Kenny and the entire staff are friendly and keep things rolling.
Staff sucks
This is the 4th time I’ve played at this course and I’ve concluded the staff is the worst here. Every time I’ve played here the staff is super rude and yesterday was the worst. From the second I walked in to the lady supplying food and drinks, everyone has a bad attitude here. Not playing here again. Average course, bad service, to many places to play.
Great condition, cruel greens
This course has some of the fastest greens in the DFW, cruelly quick, make sure you are intentional on literally every putt. It’s super easy to 3 and even 4 putt here. Going from the tips is a solid challenge, they don’t look after the tees at the tips as well as the others however and there is no drinks cart. Marshall’s are great though and they keep a solid pace.
Very friendly staff.
Very friendly staff.
Overall, the golf course is in great shape, fairways were well-maintained, tee boxes and greens are in really good condition. You can’t beat the prices, the senior rates are great. You will not be disappointed at this golf course.
