About
Developers eventually had their way with this cow pasture on the fringe of Houston. Loaded with native pecans and oaks and supplemented with even more transplanted trees, the terrain is ideal for golf, with two creeks and five natural lakes on the property. In fact, it's good enough to host the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974.
The traditional El Dorado Course plays to a par 70 and features five par 3s that go 190-yards-plus from the tips. Jay Riviere designed the back nine.
Jeff Blume managed the redesign and complete renovation of the El Dorado Course in 2009.

Nice Course. Long and Plenty of Water
First time playing Eldorado. Went out as a single and met a couple of nice guys who were also singles at tee box to form a threesome. The course was a lot longer than I expected and with plenty of water hazards throughout the course. The greens were in good shape and held shots really well after a little rain from the day before. The fairways were fine and starting to thicken after winter dormancy. Overall great course and I plan on returning.
Good challenging course
Green was very fast. Fairway, teebox, and green condition was very good for the price.
The layout is very fun and challenging.
Tough course
Course layout is a lot of fun. Challenging course. Conditions of the fairways and greens aren’t the best, still would recommend.
Water, Water, Everywhere
Very enjoyable golf course. Lots of bumps, curves, and slopes in the fairways and greens. I personally have had issues in the past with hitting over water, but there is so much water here that I almost got used to it. I was playing with my son, and we kept saying that we would absolutely have to get my other son and nephew out to play it. A few fairways were cart-path-only but it’s still the rainy season so it couldn’t be helped. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and pace of play was good. The only thing that I didn’t like was that at every other course we play, we stop after 9 holes for rest and refreshment before playing the back 9. Here, you play the whole 18 before you get back to the pro shop, etc.
It is a good golf course
It is a good golf course. My friends and I like to play this course again.
Cool Course
Course was in good shape.. a few greens need work but over all i enjoyed it
Last minute change
They changed the course at the last minute due to a school tournament ....There were no carts available ...What a mess...The green were in bad shape . The cart path need to be replaced. Not coming back
Nice
My wife,daughter and I played the day after new years. Course was good despite weather conditions for that day. Very challenging with rain and wind. But had a good time.
Challenging But Fun
I took my son to play this course since he was visiting from Connecticut. We skipped the driving range which is very small considering this place has two courses. The putting green needed some attention and the chipping area was closed. I like the layout of the course especially starting out with a par 5 dogleg left. There are plenty of bunker and water hazards so you need to pay attention. This place is about course management and not how far you can hit the ball. We only made it through 15 holes and mother nature decided to open the floodgates. I will definitely come back because the staff was friendly, the carts worked and you can't beat the price.
