About
Developers eventually had their way with this cow pasture on the fringe of Houston. Loaded with native pecans and oaks and supplemented with even more transplanted trees, the terrain is ideal for golf, with two creeks and five natural lakes on the property. In fact, it's good enough to host the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974.
The traditional El Dorado Course plays to a par 70 and features five par 3s that go 190-yards-plus from the tips. Jay Riviere designed the back nine.
Jeff Blume managed the redesign and complete renovation of the El Dorado Course in 2009.

Nice course
Greens recently punched but overall course is very nice! Super slow play due to a 5 some 3 groups ahead and no help from the Marshall.
El Dorado
The best public course in the area for your money!
Outstanding!!
played El Dorado and it was in as good a shape as any country club in the area. Fairways are plush and greens are rolling pure. Played 18 in less than three hours. Playing from the tips is challenging but extremely fun. Highly recommend!!
Great greens, slow pace, bad bunkers
Great greens, poor pace, bad bunkers, but worth it for the greens
Mostly good conditions
Greens were in very good shape, but the bunkers were a mess, mostly unplayable. Lots of recent rain was surely a factor, but they were much worse than other area courses I've visited recently.
6 hour round
How do allow a group of 5 to go out? It took us 6 hours to play a round. Totally unacceptable and I won’t be back to this place for a while
El Dorado great course
In spectacular condition. Greens are immaculate. This is a awesome course layout and soo fun to play.
Nice course
course was in fantastic shape, greens rolled true, played in 3hrs 15 minutes.
El Dorado and La Quinta
Both courses are very solid courses. Definitely some of the best greens in Houston especially after the freeze. The bluebonnet grill was amazing really enjoyed our food and beer there. Great Value and high quality golf
Course was in pretty good shape although greens are very slow. Lunch was good at the grill.
Just OK
Range balls are horrible and not part of round. Greens are furry but they have grass on them. Saw cart girl 1x in 18 holes. Otherwise what was expected for $60
