El Dorado at Quail Valley Golf Course
About
Developers eventually had their way with this cow pasture on the fringe of Houston. Loaded with native pecans and oaks and supplemented with even more transplanted trees, the terrain is ideal for golf, with two creeks and five natural lakes on the property. In fact, it's good enough to host the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974.
The traditional El Dorado Course plays to a par 70 and features five par 3s that go 190-yards-plus from the tips. Jay Riviere designed the back nine.
Jeff Blume managed the redesign and complete renovation of the El Dorado Course in 2009.

Cold But Great Round
We really enjoyed playing today. Greens were great and the course was excellent!
Green was green
I loved the way the geeens looked. It was great to putt on.
Great course
Course conditions are great. Pace was good. Rained out on the 16th hole.
Close it now
Did not play the Eldorado course. I played the other course. I do not remember the name of the track. I should have known better when everyone was going off of Eldorado. Guy at check in said they were getting ready to close and re-do the course. Eldorado has already been redone.
Neat layout so this course has real potential but I will say, the greens were absolutely awful. You couldn't even putt on them they were so bad. Not sure why they are actually taking people's money to play this course as it's not really golf, or fair for that matter. For the most part, I'd stay away from this course. I likely will not be back.
