About
Developers eventually had their way with this cow pasture on the fringe of Houston. Loaded with native pecans and oaks and supplemented with even more transplanted trees, the terrain is ideal for golf, with two creeks and five natural lakes on the property. In fact, it's good enough to host the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974.
The traditional El Dorado Course plays to a par 70 and features five par 3s that go 190-yards-plus from the tips. Jay Riviere designed the back nine.
Jeff Blume managed the redesign and complete renovation of the El Dorado Course in 2009.

Birdies and Buicks
Really enjoyed the course—well maintained and fun to play. The only hazard I wasn’t prepared for was traffic. Road holes added a element of adrenaline to an otherwise relaxing round.
Best Public Course in Sugar Land
Excellent fairways and greens. Bunkers are not consistent. Some have proper sands while otjers are chunky.
Aerated greens
Eldo is always fun and challenging
Today was disappointing because the greens were recently arrayed Shots kicked up clouds of sand and greens were slower and bumpy
Should be better in two weeks
Clubhouse is still closed

Course was in great shape. Pace was good. Fun day golfing.

Nice condition, but there is sand on green now. Hope 2 more weeks, perfect green
Challenging course!!
Great condition of the course and greens.
Very challenging for beginners/intermediate players, especially playing from blue tees.
Way to crowded (flys of 5 allowed!!). Playing pase was too slow.
Overall a great course to try
Quail Valley and El Dorado
The bird is always fun to play. Things are happening at Quail Valley on its way to being the best public facility in Mo City.
Long gone
For the money greens could be better. Slow and bumpy .
Fairways might come back with warmer temperatures and rain i. Hope so .
Under Construction
The clubhouse and La Quinta are still very much under construction. However, El Dorado is in excellent shape. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are the best in the area (public and within 20 miles), and I’m not sure it’s all that close.
