La Quinta at Quail Valley Golf Course
About
La Quinta Course, one of the two regulation courses at Quail Valley, is a typical regulation course, slightly more difficult than El Dorado because of the water in play on 10 holes.

18th Eldorado Photo submitted by u000006680707 on 04/19/2022
Greens horrible and pace of play
We booked this round online for a decent rate on golf now. The greens were horrible. There were not any greens that were not dead, holes, bumps and terrible roll. The layout of the course is challenging and enjoyable but the price is not worth the green quality. On top of that they were not regulating the flow as singles were all around and we waited to hit just about every shot. I will not be back here unless the things are fixed properly
Course for repair within a year
The greens ane not maintained but the plann s to repaiir the course over a period of 1 year. Hopefully all’s well in by this time next year.
Wow Bad Greens
The greens at this course just continue to degrade month after month. Do not pay and play here, unless you’ve confirmed the greens are in better shape. No exaggeration, they’re unplayable. The tee boxes and fairways are not too bad, so it’s just a shame the greens are in such rough shape.
Closing the course
One of the starters told me that the greens are dead or dying and that the course is closing. Just this one. Eldorado side is good as I played that one last week.
Decent layout. Great course to play to practice. Drive the cart very slow, some of the fairways feel like you are driving in a battle torn field.
Staff and area is nice, just that course itself save your money if it's not a hot deal.
Good layout, greens in bad condition
Grass on fairway in good condition, but the greens need a lot of work - bad spots everywhere. The clubhouse is under renovation too.
Nice Course to play for a change of pace
Despite a prolonged dry and hot stretch of weather, the course was in fairly good shape. The fairways still had enough thickness to the grass to enable a descending blow and divet with the iron shots. The greens were a bit patchy but still offered a smooth, medium pace roll. The layout and length and hazards (water and traps) test your game and utilize most of the clubs in your bag (unlike many courses where you end up utilizing mostly the same four or five clubs)
On the negative side, the cart paths are in horrible shape and over 50% of the track needs to be replaced. Also, there was only water available at the restroom stop between the ninth and tenth holes.
No amenities
Did not have access to the clubhouse before hole 10 and the cart person only came around once. The greens were in bad shape.
Greens in bad shape
I have played QV dozens of time and have never had a bad experience, so I’m hoping this is just a bad time of year for the course. The greens were a 2 out of 10, usually 9 out of 10. I def don’t want to throw them under bus cause Hurricane really hurt the operations. But if you go, be prepared for some rough greens as of this post, 10/19/24.
Under Repair
Greens are in bad shape. Clubhouse and grill are under repair. Temporary amenities.
Will wait till next year to play again.
Greens in trouble
Since the last time I played here the greens are going south. If you enjoy putting take a pass.
Getting Bad
The greens are getting pretty bad on this course. The pace of play is not good as they always allow 5-somes out there and they do not even consider letting you play through. Not worth the money at this point in my opinion.
